tl;dr: rare country vinyl collector
I also made these stickers because I've seen Some Kind Of Monster maybe 50 times and I love it so much.

I printed a bunch of the Echobrain sticker too. They've just been sitting in my basement.

I actually made the Plain, Simple Garak sticker if anyone wants one! I just don't put them up on the DC store because they don't really fit and I never knew what to do with them.
Sometimes I design stickers about non-country things just as a treat. Here's a few deep space 9 ones I made.

I found this single by Ground Zero out of Pittsburg KS a couple years ago and put it on youtube. I keep hoping someone else will put it on discogs so I can find out more about it.

New blog post where I talk about Nick Shoulders, volunteering with dollar country, and the 14,000 records I bought this month.

When the internet goes down is when I really realize just how integral it is to my every day life and work. It's crazy to think that I remember before having it!

Just finished looking through a collection of 100+ boxes and in the very last one there were a dozen instantaneous discs. It's experiences like this that keep me convinced to look through every single box of a collection.

I've been playing Squardle for a couple years now and it's such a great way to get my brain going, especially when having a toddler has made me feel like it's getting smoother by the day.

It's like Wordle but 6 in a grid. It looks confusing to start but you get the hang of it.
Squardle just got an update: fubargames.se/squardle/?wh...

It has two new game modes, as well as a few new quality of life features. The new modes are "Squardle 34" and "Squardle Distance 34". Both use a new 34-square board layout, but the latter also completely changes how the hints function!
Squardle
Squardle is a daily word game where you try to solve a 5x5 grid of 6 words! You get colored clues telling you if the guessed letters were in the square, row or column.

I think I'm just now realizing that playing a record from someone's hometown/region is Dollar Country's love language.
I'm bringing a record to play tonight at the Nick Shoulders show for the home town of each person in the band.

New York NY, San Marcos TX, Asheville NC, Philadelphia PA, and one generally from Arkansaw about mushrooms that I thought Nick would like.

One of my favorite things is meeting someone, asking them where they're from, and getting to say "Oh I have a record from there."

Where are you from? I bet I have a record from nearby.

Today I was thinking that for listening rooms my favorites are full of 78s.

45s are great, but they don't display well, they're too small.

LPs are great, but they often overstay their welcome.

78s have the brevity of a single and a size worth presenting.
Anybody have a nice listening room to share? I love pictures of people's listening rooms.

Mine is a combination between a cartoon mad scientist lab and one of those pack rat mounds you find in the woods.

So far there are two rules for buying gospel records. No Leisure Suits on the cover and only two Cookes. (Means almost everything after 1972 is not that interesting)

Two cool finds from yesterday. First printing of the first photography book by Gordon Parks and a book about Hawaiian lap steel.

re: Being a creative and social media pressure

A podcast recently was mentioning the origin of twitter and how, at the time, it seemed strange that there was a website where people just shared their current thoughts and/or actions. It made me think about how normalized that has become.

My eBay pro tip is to look for new auction posts, make a bid for the most you would pay for the thing, turn off all email notifications about being outbid and then forget about it. In a week you might win some and you'll forget about the ones you didn't, at least I do.

There's a street in downtown Cleveland called Robert Lockwood Jr Dr. Do you have any pics or things of him in your collection? I know he's from down your way!

Another one from a stack I was pricing for my sale list that I dropped a needle on and kind of want to keep. Ripping rock from Kansas City 1970.

Just found this in a stack of records and really liked it!

I'm surprised this isn't better known. Garage rock from Colorado Springs.
