This game just keeps going, and no one scores. I thought the law was you need to score.

What in the hell is happening here? Is this Baseball?

You’ll find the Hatch Act right there under that pile, beneath the Impoundment Act, Anti-Deficiency Act, War Powers Act and other Federal laws that exist for no particular reason. Nope - not that one; that’s the Emoluments Clause.

Amazon video, too. It’s unwatchable now.

He’s trying to assert his own reality. Which has multiple benefits; you don’t have to acknowledge actual reality, and you get to dominate weaker people by forcing them to entertain your delusions.

“You do not have the right to lie”? Wow. Big if true! If only we had something to test whether that was true, like 250 years of history or something.

I’m not going to make referees suffer the soft bigotry of low expectations.

This is when democrats should hold a press conference saying “every DHS officer should be aware that the people who are trying to goad you into committing crimes will not be in power forever, and our memories are long. Don’t make the mistake of believing you have impunity.”

I assume that 90% of Trump supporters hear Trump and think “sure, that’s stupid, but it’s not meant for me, it’s meant for the rubes” not realizing that they’re all the rubes.

“Wealthy New Yorkers who take the bus”

Do voters not care about being treated like idiots anymore?

Is “an insult to one’s intelligence” even a thing anymore?

Or are voters happy with politicians treating them like morons?

See, this is the problem: all over the world, the bad guys are doubling down, while the good guys (or even the neutral guys) are backing away. What Ubisoft SHOULD have said is that in the next game you’re an immigrant running from ICE, and go on a mission to destroy the whole racist administration.

I’m really wondering if the next administration, whoever it is, will have the guts to call the Qatari deal corrupt, accuse them of bribing the American president, and kick them out of the country. Or if we’re just going to reward corruption from now on.

Putting aside the cravenness and opportunism, this is a good thing. Our country was founded on the idea that politicians were likely to be craven, but could be compelled to do the right thing for fear of losing office. This might be one of those rare times when voter pressure actually works.

I can’t assume they want to lose any more than I do! I’m already assuming they want to lose all I can!

Yes, they raised the issue to the captain of a passenger that was uncooperative and not following crew instructions, as they are required to. Following established procedure is the opposite of “overreacting”. Which is why everyone gets disrupted when some asshole decides rules don’t apply to them.
dookielazer.bsky.social
Not the worst idea I’ve heard this week.
dookielazer.bsky.social
Right, because flight attendants make the call when diverting aircraft, everybody knows that. The captain and entire flight crew just have to follow their orders.

Once again a horror inflicted on America is deferred by the complete ignorance of its antagonist.
dookielazer.bsky.social
True! The only reason Republicans seem to love Russia, even those that spent most of their careers hating it, is because the orange moron in charge of their party loves Putin. So of course they have to follow Dear Leader. If he loved Hitler, they’d find a way to love him, too.
dookielazer.bsky.social
I don’t know why this isn’t a bigger story. Maybe because Fox News didn’t cover it or something. Or maybe because Americans are apathetic and ignorant and basically deserve to have their democracy stripped from them. I don’t know.

It takes a special kind of psychopath to think “I’m going to disrupt the airline and 200 other people because I have to stand on the principle that I’m different than everyone else and not subject to the same rules.” But alas, sociopathy and narcissism are very 21st Century American.
dookielazer.bsky.social
Yes, because that’s the standard for electoral success these days: respect for journalists and bipartisan behavior. Surely no one could win if they only appeal to their base and insult reporters, right??

Just use all that “tariff revenue.”

Other car makers have outpaced and out-innovated Tesla or are on their way to doing so, which is what happens when your CEO loses interest in the company and cares more about making sure nazis have cultural representation.
