And somehow they had descended on the city and on Cersei.

By the time they docked, he could see that the dragon had flown away and parts of the Red Keep were in ruins.

Assuming it was because she was rather busy, Oberyn had set off.

Entering a war zone froze the blood in his veins. He did not know what was going on but the whispers and rumors of a Targaryen with dragons came to his mind. So they were true. +

To his surprise, they’d struck up a friendship of sorts through the exchange of short messages sent via ravens and letters.

After time had passed, he had thought to visit Kings Landing again. He’d sent her a letter but she had not replied. +

He had sent it upon his return to Sunspear. He’d merely thanked her again for her hospitality and had given her the standard offer of visiting Dorne if she ever felt like leaving her part of Westeros. +

He’d left after he’d gotten his vengeance against Ser Gregor Clegane, finally at peace with the ghost of his sister and her children. He had not anticipated ever returning to Kings Landing but to his surprise, he had found himself sending a raven to Queen Cersei. +

The longer he gets to know Her Grace, Queen Cersei, the more he realizes she’s quite misunderstood. Taking walks with her has opened his eyes to the position she’s found herself in.

“Tell me Your Grace. What keeps you here in Kings Landing? Why not travel the world?”
