I’ve always loved comics, always loved books and now I hold in my hands one containing work by one of my favourite artists that I helped to make. Thank you again to @eatonjones.bsky.social and @roberthammond.bsky.social for letting me into their world. Roll on Eartha – no wait, that sounds rude...

That's the plan if a better one doesn't show up.

Does anyone have a good quality clipping of E36 from Eartha published in the News of the World Sunday magazine 1981-82? As you can see, the one we have is ripped. Many thanks. This is for the Eartha collection featuring art by John M Burns.

Reuben, it'll be no consolation to you but I'm still waiting for my copy too.

Just read the amazing #Zetari Kickstarter project from @dortmunder6040.bsky.social where the fantastic art of #johnmburns has been lovingly restored into a truly gorgeous edition. If you're a fan (why would you not be!) you have to get this!

Thanks Stu - kudos also to @roberthammond.bsky.social and @eatonjones.bsky.social for letting me join their book-making team. We're planning on more.

Follow me and I'll put a link on if any surplus copies are for sale when all Kickstarter backers receive their copies safely.

I just realised I've never posted any photos of John on this page. Consider that rectified.

Dylan, there may be copies left over for sale once all backers have received their copies safely. If there are, I'll put a link to the website on here.

There are a couple of updates on the Zetari Kickstarter page. The books are ready. If you backed it, be sure to log in and supply your final address.

The Sweeney is 50 years old this year. John M Burns did this illustration for an article in the UK magazine Reveille in 1978.

Got it, read it. It's great. Makes me want to go back and reread all the earlier ones.

This is Eartha. Her adventures appeared in the News of the World Sunday magazine 1981-82 painted by John M Burns. We're putting a book collection together and are still looking for some of the original art. Please get in touch if you have any either here or at [email protected]

Love this illustration of Modesty Blaise and Willie Garvin.

Those of you who backed the Zetari Special Edition book on Kickstarter should have received an update. I had the pleasure of going through a PDF of the finished version and obviously I'm biased but @roberthammond.bsky.social has done an amazing job on restoration, lettering and book design.

You're right, it's him. The World Beyond appeared in the Diana for Girls 1966 Annual published in 1965.

I was at the Edinburgh Usher Hall show.

John M Burns' few projects with American publishers were not happy experiences. One was Sable and Fortune for Marvel in 2006. An intended six issue arc ended up being three and a cover for issue 4.

Only nine followers needed to get the nice round number of 10k! Here’s a detail of something I’m working on that I’m not allowed to show…
