For my part building a NAS and a computer that will play Witcher 4 is a bigger concern than a living room PC, but I will be mightily tempted if the price is good

Looking at the Steam Machine specs it’s pretty smart they are targeting 99.9% of what will be coming out on Steam rather than one that will play Witcher 4 at 4k 120hz. No Steam Deck refresh means there’s only two Valve configs to target on the lower end, a boon for anyone with a weak gaming laptop

It’s pretty cool you can buy games one time and have them all available for decades across countless iterations of hardware and OS. Probably would’ve given up the hobby by now if not for that

Steam Frame is interesting but no top strap, no audio are weird choices considering Valve’s long history with VR and the lack of lighthouse tracking option (though maybe their camera tracking is almost as good now?)
