I want this weird privilege to be able to interact, like if I can just eventually draw well enough I'll be like them too, but I know how wrong this thinking is.

My desire to draw shouldn't be based in other people, in seeking approval, or in comparison. But time passes and I can't remove it.

good. I think about how others will see it. If it isn't turning out, I struggle to want to continue it. It makes me sacrifice anything adventurous, or new, to try and please people. My motivations feel misplaced, and parasocial. I admire artists, I elevate them too much and want to be included.

I've been pretty mentally unhealthy about art for at least a year and it hasn't improved much. I've gotten so much advice and words of encouragement but I can't seem to make a long term dent in the problem. When I draw I don't push myself, and I can't sketch freely. I just want the piece to look ->

Omg haha you're way too kind. I'm normally a *lot* rougher. For this one and some of my other crazy ones, I was studying the lightning directly from reference, for practice. It makes it way easier.

I try not to normally do that and also try different styles, so my usual output isn't nearly so clean

I never owned a PS2 as a kid, but just played Sly Cooper for the first time a little earlier this year - some of the most fun I've had with a game in a while!
