Ghosts, leprechauns, fairies, dryads, elves, etc may all have their origin in vision impairment and Charles Bonnet Syndrome. Lewis Carroll had migraines which also have visual manifestations.

Text seen in Charles Bonnet Syndrome is random and has no meaning. Be careful not to infer meaning where there is none.

I work with persons who experience Charles Bonnet Syndrome. Costumes and uniforms are a fairly common. People in Victorian dress as well

When your are falling asleep or upon waking you may experience a hallucination even without a vision loss. These are called hypnopompic and hypnogogic respectively. Some of the people with Charles Bonnet Syndrome report that their dream seems to be continued after waking as CBS.

Seeing text is common among persons with Charles Bonnet Syndrome. I’ve never known anyone who has only text however. Does your post mean that you see words that persist in your visual field?

I have worked with a few people who have Charles Bonnet due to vision loss in one eye. Each of these have normal vision in the other eye.

I have worked with a couple of people who have lost sight in only one eye who have Charles bonnet. I don't understand why some see Charles bonnet with their eyes closed and some do not.

I expect that the marching band was making no sound if it was in fact, Charles Bonnet syndrome. A number of the folks that I talk to you in my support groups talk about coherent groups of people wearing uniforms. Many are soldiers.

A number of the people that I work with in my support group, see text on walls, floors, ceilings on television. This is Charles Bonnet syndrome as well. the words are random as are the images that some people see there is no message there.

Charles Bennett syndrome isn't hereditary. Some sorts of blindness run in families, however, and probably somewhere between 30 and 50% of those with side impairment at a level has Charles Bonet syndrome

Folks with Charles Bonnet syndrome aren't talking about it because they are afraid people will think they're crazy. As a result, doctors will probably see it all the time, and misattributed it or just plain miss it.

I am a clinical psychologist with 20 years experience working with sight impaired folks. It is not rare. I observed one in three having Charles Bonnet syndrome. Find someone who is blind and ask them.
