The date commemorates the World Health Organisation’s decision in 1990 to remove homosexuality from its classification of diseases.

In 2015, the UK was the leading country on LGBTI human rights in Europe according to IGLA-Europe, with 86%.

In 2025, we have dropped to 46%.

The ILGA-Europe rainbow map from 2015. Each country is coloured according to the score given and there is a key along the side. Countries above 80% are in a dark green, above 65% in a slightly lighter green, above 50% in a lighter green. Countries above 40% are in yellow. Countries above 20% are in orange. And countries below 20% are in red. The scores for each country are as follows:

Really pleased to see this HSSIB report published - we've come a long way in the last decade to try to emphasise how much fatigue affects healthcare delivery in the NHS, and how under-recognised this still is
