I don't know if the administration is really worried about getting impeached if the GOP loses elections

I do know that if they wanted to win, they wouldn't cut health care subsidies or child care funding

Right before we were distracted, we learned the administration takes 4 times the doctors' recommended daily dose of aspirin

Which means they think ignoring medical advice from people in authority positions is OK

Which we should all keep in mind when considering RFK Jr's new vaccine schedule

I guess we all understand why they changed the department's name from Defense to War

But now that we are at war, we should ask how much we trust the people in charge of it

The administration is saying a nation's leader can be declared a criminal by a foreign entity

And they are saying that leader can be removed from their country and held criminally accountable overseas

I wonder how Netanyahu feels about this new attitude
January 4, 2026 at 10:26 AM
The administration attacked a sovereign nation without a declaration of war from Congress

Which should make us wonder if they are still planning to attack US cities without the approval of the Courts
January 3, 2026 at 10:23 AM
It's the first business day of 2026!

Have you checked the cost of your health insurance?
January 2, 2026 at 10:06 AM
2025 ended with the administration giving up on their efforts to deploy the military in many cities

So, 2026 is already starting out better than last year did!

We are now being told that there are 5.2 million pages of files to review carefully before they can be released

Do they realize that if they are constantly discovering more pages that weren't properly reviewed they are admitting they've been doing a shoddy job so far?

OpenAI has an opening for a safety expert whose job will be to provide protection from the dangers of AI itself

I wish our government still had people who did that
December 30, 2025 at 10:31 AM
Obviously people like it when inflation is low

But if they can't find jobs and earn money, it just means that the things they can't afford are less expensive
December 28, 2025 at 10:35 AM
The Bush administration deserves to be condemned for lying to the world in order to prove their attacks on another nation were justified

But at least they recognized most of the world wants administrations to prove their attacks on other nations are justified
December 27, 2025 at 10:44 AM
We all want a system that doesn't destroy innocent lives on the way to punishing the guilty

But if that explains why you are so slow to release evidence in one case, how do you explain why you are so quick to pull people off the streets and ship them out of the country in other cases?
December 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM
"National security" is the administration's go to reason for everything from attacking Venezuela to annexing Greenland to ending wind energy farms

Odd that they didn't think tossing people out of the military for no good reason would affect national security
December 24, 2025 at 10:31 AM
So far, the administration's best idea for dealing with the high costs of energy is to steal tankers full of another country's oil

But they've also decided to cancel large offshore wind farms and the jobs and cheaper energy they bring, because *they* are a national security risk
December 23, 2025 at 10:44 AM
The administration is seizing tankers that aren't even sailing under the Venezuelan flag

So, our international policy is that we're just pirates now?
December 22, 2025 at 1:02 PM
The administration claims its prescription pricing deals will cut prices by up to 800%

My guess is that even people who think a reduction of 800% is possible will notice that health insurance is actually getting more expensive
December 21, 2025 at 10:35 AM
Let's say you were given a project and a deadline, and at the deadline you produced about 10% of what was required for the project and it was largely work you had produced earlier

How long would you keep your job?
December 20, 2025 at 10:05 AM
You can put your name on a cultural landmark, but that doesn't make you cultured

In the same way that calling something your healthcare policy doesn't make it an improvement for anybody's health
December 19, 2025 at 10:10 AM
When I think of the personality of an alcoholic, I picture someone who is just as likely to be in a sudden sleeping spell as they are to be in a senseless rage but never completely coherent

So, I get what Susie was saying
December 17, 2025 at 10:05 AM
There was a mass shooting on a college campus and tragic family situation that led to murder

And the administration made an inexplicable choice regarding which required their commentary
December 16, 2025 at 10:12 AM
There is still time for lawmakers to avoid a dramatic spike in healthcare costs

But they need a plan, and right now there's no evidence they even have concepts of a plan
December 15, 2025 at 10:50 AM
With the season's first snow on the ground, it's easy to believe the world is calm and at peace

Though that's harder if you hear the news from Brown University or Sydney
December 14, 2025 at 10:35 AM
After almost 4 years of relentless attacks on their neighbor, Russia continues to suffer loses to Ukraine

But that's no reason to think that the administration's plans to launch land-based attacks on a faraway country are questionable
December 13, 2025 at 10:38 AM
When prices go up, it's hard to convince people not to blame the administration

It's even harder when the administration is spending the people's money on vindictive prosecutions that they keep losing
December 12, 2025 at 5:40 PM
Why seize a tanker?

Either because the war against drug traffic is actually a war for oil, or it's just meant to be a distraction from bigger problems for the administration

Neither of those seem like good reasons
