Hi everyone! "Zombies Ate My Neighbors TC", I'm the dev behind the GZDoom project
The project is resuming with hopefully a new demo on March 31st with some new decorative stuff and some new maps!!!

Ok , actually got to run WinBoat and there's a problem with launching applications because it doesn't open them from Linux
BUT it's a easy to setup virtual machine AND it runs pretty well if you have more than 4 Gbs of ram.
Finally got to run Paint.net on "Linux" but this is good enough for me ^^

Ok , actually got to run WinBoat and there's a problem with launching applications because it doesn't open them from Linux

My current Linux problem is a self made one, a few days ago I found a GitHub script that would let you install Sony Vegas trough Wine
I tried it with Sony Vegas 13 and surely it installed the dependencies and made it launch- and then crash immediately at startup

Yes, that's why Linux people are so "You should try Linux" "Linux would be great for this" and so on
And they can be seen as annoying, but they are doing it with a good end purpose in mind. So that we have more OS options and good options at that

linux is in such an unfortunate catch-22 state right now. not many people use it because of all the hardware incompatibilities and lack of developer support, but the hardware incompatibilities and lack of developer support are because not many people use it

I switched to Linux Mint over a year ago afaik and I can do Doom Modding and work my stuff fine on it.
My biggest complain with Linux as a whole is that I can't run Paint.net on it

Well about the GZDoom implosion I would like to remind everyone that, developing games usually target a specific version of the engine and afaik everything prior to 4.14 should be safe to the AI commits
Mods on the other hand may suffer if they are being maintained, but UZDoom should be better

Ok, you can do Doom Modding on Linux Mint.
Just run "Ultimate Doom Builder" trough Proton 8 and works without an issue, you can even test on GZDoom at the same session!
Slade3 comes native on Mint as well so you have the entire toolkit there ^^!
