The longest card name (which is saying a LOT) in Duel Masters is
“「Destructive Red! Scrapper Red!」「Knowledgeable Blue! Brain Blue!」「Enchanting Green! Trap Green!」「Flashy Yellow! Spark Yellow!」「Greedy Purple! Hand Purple!」「We are where the break is! Shield Sentai, Triggerger!!”
Woahhh here she comes, she’s a Braineater
Deathliger, Lion of Chaos is the most sought after and expensive card from Base set. It didn’t see much play, but it was the first major antagonist’s card and the foil to Bolshack Dragon. It had a lot of merch.
Vampire Silphy is an iconic Nottsuo art from Base Set. Saw a lot of play too!

Duel Masters Play’s got patched in the last 24-hours in a way that busted the previous translation method (which was not officially supported). So people like me who love the game won’t be able to play it in English for some time, if ever again. Kinda gutted about that.
Zagaan is one of many Super Rares from base set that’s just a high power Double Breaker. It shows up in a lot of later cards as a reference and has 4 legs.
Shield Trigger is a defining comeback mechanic well encapsulated on the 🍆iconic🍆 Terror Pit. 6 mana to destroy one creature is a high cost, but with a solid chance to be one of your shields at the start of the game? It’s saved more players than not.
From Base Set to current release, Duel Masters is designed for 1v1 play. It’s aged well from this approach. Swamp Worm was a heater for early ramp reanimator decks.
Stinger Worm’s art is an example of how Duel Masters managed to be iconic
Skeleton Soldier is a vanilla that’s bad on rate, but the art is iconic ❤️
Despite being a promo included with some Duel Masters games: Night Master, Shadow of Decay was never ever a good card
We at Cool Duel Masters Cards affirm a disdain for r/freemagic
Gigargon would end up getting a card in Kaijudo with the same name and art, but a different effect:
Bringing creatures directly back from the graveyard to the battlefield wasn’t really an effect in early Duel Masters, this made Gigargon a lategame value creature for early metas.
A Chimera is often depicted as a combination of multiple species into something semi functional. When we draft we often construct our own Chimera.
We at Cool Duel Masters Cards wanna break character for a moment to say Donald Trump and his administration is a disgrace to America and any notion of fundamental human rights.
The Chimera of Duel Masters have really fun and hard to decipher art
Ghost Touch was the original Shield Trigger discard card. Would later be power crept by a Shield Trigger creature with the same effect.
Death smoke was the original bar for spot removal, and bad against aggro
For a long time, the only revival method in Duel Masters was returning creatures to the hand. This was a smart decision.
Star-Cry Dragon was the only card exclusive to the TCG (other than promo variants or cards with altered effects for balancing)
It was not good enough to see play.
Dark Raven, Shadow of Grief was one of 11 cards distributed with alternate art at McDonald’s (right).
It was the first trading card I remember having. There is grief for cards and games buried to time.
Dark Clown is an example of a bad card that informs the player of what constitutes a good card in comparison
I used to hope that with enough interest Duel Masters would return outside of Japan. In some sense, I still hope for that, but I also embrace that it’s nice that it lives on anywhere at all. We’re guaranteed nothing in life, and yet there’s so much to enjoy right beneath our noses.
