I just learned the first name of my side character is an "AI-ism" and I'm so angry that I have to constantly break my back trying to avoid these new ever-shifting vague rules because the slop machine wants to eat us all. I spent 2 years writing this book and it can all come down to a name apparently

It's easy to lose track of perspective when I'm working on a weekly series, but I'm glad I can look back a year later and laugh really hard at all the jokes I was too busy to feel anything about.

Oooooooh, am I regretting not taking that mid-season hiatus right now. I'm working on two projects right now and I'm out of buffer episodes for one and the other is right at the deadline. Might get one of those armchair cushions because my hand doesn't want to work anymore.

"Protecting" the populace from depressing, ugly, & "confusing" art (& representing it as contagion) has been a feature of more than one authoritarian regime, and whether folks like Isabel realize it of not, they are siding with deeply anti-democratic ideas when they engage in this type of rhetoric.
A key point in Fahrenheit 451 is that books were banned because they made people depressed and uncomfortable. The novel's protagonist, Montag, is taken into custody after he reads a poem that makes a woman cry because she realizes the emptiness of her life.
