2x witness of puke on a NBA court.
I don’t know if Oviedo will ever put it together but the Pirates sure do love prospects I’m not sure hit the ball hard enough to cover their contact issues

Quotes like these are almost always nothing burgers, but one might be compelled to point out that trading Robbie Ray would be a really easy way to free up $25MM if the Giants really feel like their hands are tied financially
December 4, 2025 at 10:44 PM
Maybe FP Santangelo and Ron Washington can have their own KNBR segment together
December 4, 2025 at 10:34 PM
Lol, could you imagine if the Giants had landed Ohtani and we had to sit here dealing with Greg Johnson in ten years saying "we have to pay $68MM in deferrals so our payroll is going to have to be bottom-5 in the league"

Can we get Raynaud in the starting lineup for Eubanks next game?
December 4, 2025 at 1:43 AM
🔮: If Tyler Rogers is going to cost too much for the Giants, then they're not signing a proven closer. Plain and simple.

They'll sign, like, Josh Sborz or Pierce Johnson and have them "compete" with Ryan Walker in camp. Then give Walker the job anyway.

Yermin Mercedes can rest easy
It is 2:40am in Atlanta and Chris Paul just posted this

Hmm. Astros gave up a couple A-ball lotto tickets for him at the deadline. He's a little expensive in arb but obvious upgrade for RF and trade cost won't be very big. Feels like the type of upside swing that makes sense for the Giants.

I joined the Robert Murray discord server a couple offseasons ago when it was $1/month to do so and he said multiple times to take anything Morosi says with a big grain of salt
Yeah the fact that the Schwarber rumor was from Morosi makes it pretty safe to ignore
December 3, 2025 at 1:54 AM
They're not signing Schwarber, and they're definitely not trading Eldridge. He's one of the bats they're counting on for a 120 wRC+ (as daunting as that'll be for a 21 year old, but they want that draft pick)
Credence that they trade Eldridge just went up, unfortunately. Trade + gallen/bassitt looks likely to me for SP. I like gallen actually on short term, but no where near value of ponce.
December 3, 2025 at 1:14 AM
Okay. Let’s take a step back and go glass half full here. Maybe the Giants are looking to fill innings at a not-awful rate. Gallen, Kelly, Bassitt are in that camp. You lose the upside on Ponce, but you hope Birdsong can be your own Ponce. That’s not too bad of a vision.

...the market got beyond them???? at $10MM AAV??????
Cody Ponce is going to Toronto on a 3-year, $30 million deal that crushed industry estimates, via @ken-rosenthal.bsky.social . Giants were involved but market got beyond them. Jays moved quickly to replace Chris Bassitt and Max Scherzer with Dylan Cease and Ponce. Will one or both be SF-bound now? 🤔
December 3, 2025 at 12:01 AM
Of course, the funniest possible scenario is the Giants signing Max Scherzer and thinking "yep, this fixes things" then act all shocked when the rotation falls apart in June again
December 2, 2025 at 11:53 PM
Every year there's at least one SP who has great stuff but has a middling market for one reason or another. The ROI on those deals is usually pretty good.

Cody Ponce was that guy this year. Blue Jays are getting a steal.

Grayson Rodriguez + Alek Manoah in the same rotation. Not helping the Angels' reputation for being stuck in the 2020 way of thinking

There we go

After Schmitt got hit on the wrist he's now having surgery on, he slashed .220/.280/.383. EV output was pretty normal (88.9, 8.6% barrel, 41.1% HH%). But swinging with pain could've affected his barrel accuracy. So you can include that context in his struggles now.

(You can’t trust anything Morosi says unless it’s backed up by another reporter)

The Giants announced that Casey Schmitt underwent surgery today to remove the carpal boss in his left wrist. He's expected to spend the next eight to 10 weeks rehabbing.

Almost feel like if Minnesota was capable of constructing an offense that isn't having Ant + KAT/Randle clog up 55% usage then NAW could've averaged around 12 PPG with them and the sudden jump to 20 PPG wouldn't be so shocking
December 2, 2025 at 5:26 AM
3 years over $50MM for Williams. Indicative that the Yankees probably should've tendered a QO there.
December 2, 2025 at 2:27 AM
The Giants opened the offseason saying:
•They won’t spend nine figures
•Too many $25MM AAV deals is a bad thing
•They might spend $57MM up to the CBT tax but no more

All while having offensive black holes at C, 2B, and RF, needing multiple SP, and having to fix a bullpen.
December 1, 2025 at 10:25 PM
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the Giants aren’t competing with the Dodgers, despite sharing a division. They don’t want to be the Dodgers. The Giants want to be the Cubs. They want to use their highly profitable big market sports team to fund real estate endeavors.

Heliot Ramos on fly balls since 2022

A big explosion where he was hitting them *very* hard in 2024. Then 2025 was a return to normal. A 104.5 90th EV on a 17.6% pull rate isn't going to cut it.
