To serve as my pinned:

Greetings! I'm Ian, and (amongst other things), I'm working on a metroidvania!

🌖"Moons in Crystal" is an isometric fantasy "space" metroidvania.🔮
A screenshot from the work-in-progress video-game "Moons in Crystal".

Specifically, it shows a view from within the Ossuary Moon.

Here all is made of bones--even the moon itself. Bone walls surround statues composed of bones, and the way is shut by a door of great long-bones and skulls.

A few fixtures of brass and crystal add variety, as well as lighting the exhibits in this specific area, which serves as an art-gallery. A screenshot from the work-in-progress video-game "Moons in Crystal".

Specifically, it shows the exterior of the Serpent Moon--that being a huge, coiled snake. The player hovers right before that serpent's jaws, which are open wide to admit entry... A screenshot from the work-in-progress video-game "Moons in Crystal".

Specifically, it shows a view within "space", with bright stars against a purple backdrop, and floating nearby, a moon made of bones. A screenshot from the work-in-progress video-game "Moons in Crystal".

Specifically, it shows a codex-entry--in this case, that of an artefact. (Artefacts being the magical "weapons" of the game.)

On the left is an image of the artefact, being a necklace with a pendant in the form of a fox's head. On the right is a brief description of the artefact. Above is the artefact's name. And below is a "close" button.

Good luck with the commission! I hope that it goes well! ^_^

Intriguing--I might have to check out the VOD!

No idea.

I'm a single-player gamer myself; the original thought was more an idle fancy than a serious and strong desire.

Matches then are standard hero-shooter-style team affairs, with, say, four to six players on each team all playing at once.

So maybe a little like For Honor, but less technical in its combat, with more magic, and in 2D pixel-art.

Basically, imagine a Golden Axe stage--maybe with some more verticality, now that I think of it.

Each player then takes on a fantasy beat-em-up-style class, complete with a moveset and some specials. I'd imagine them having some analogy to standard hero-shooter classes, but adjusted for melee-focus

I keep my bed close to the floor, so I usually just... step on it.

Respect for the commando roll, however! That sounds a lot more fun than just walking around! ^_^

Simon Belmont: "ah dang, I have low health, what will i do?!"

The ever so useful wall chicken:

Sort of the right idea, I suppose, but not quite what I had in mind.

Now I kinda want a team-based multiplayer game that plays as a brawler instead of a shooter...
ebornian.bsky.social
Sounds about right! XD;

I will confess: I am very much a lightweight when it comes to such things. Peppadews and sweet-chilli sauce are about my limit! ^^;

Plant, plucked: Ow! You just wait... >:(

Human, eats: ... It feels like my mouth is on fire!

Plant! >:D

Human: In a good way! :3

Plant: D:

(Okay, not the story of onions, but still.)
ebornian.bsky.social
Plant: That's it! I've had it with these mammals stealing my fruit!

Plant: I know! I'll develop capsaicin: my fruit-dispersing reptiles won't feel it, but for those horrid mammals, it'll feel like their mouths are on fire! It's perfect!

Human, enters: Hey, look, an interesting fruit!

If there's one thing humans are good at, it's taking something designed to ward off mammals via burning sensation and then deciding that it feels good. :P
ebornian.bsky.social
On the other hand, that sounds pretty tasty. ^_^

With me, tree puns come from the heartwood. ;P

An yet I think that there have been those who found it a bit "plane". Even a little bit "awl"-fashioned

But I know that for fans, these complaints are a bit of a "saw"-point. They'd rather the naysayers "clamp" it down!

I think that they're just hot for the protagonist's "chiselled" features!

>;P

I think that I have one memory from that long ago, but it's not a gaming memory.

I have others that I can't put a clear age to, but I >think< that they're later.

Not at the volume at which I initially had my headphones! T-T

(But it is nice at a saner volume. ^_^)

I think that you're on a roll with these--even if they are cheesy! ;P

When @aceottorney.bsky.social first told me about this I said "this could change people's lives and stop developers from getting exploited" and having seen the final resource, I think I was not wrong. I'd call it a must-bookmark for indie devs.

So, I just finished playing an old game titled "Venetica".

I'd held off for a long time on buying it: what I'd seen and read made it look... not great, as I recall.

Intriguing, but not good.

But it was going cheaply in a sale, so I bought it, and...

I've had a really good time with it! ^_^
