The Society is now running its annual #bookprize, primarily aimed at early career researchers.

The prize will be awarded for the best first monograph on the history of Christianity published during the previous calendar year.

#OTD in #ChurchHistory: Puritan leader and advocate of religious freedom, Roger Williams, arrived in Boston from England in 1631. He would go on to establish the first settlement in present-day Rhode Island.

Whilst we are looking at Meaux Abbey, this is the nearby church of St Peter at Wawne. What is known of its early history comes mainly from the medieval chronicle of the Abbey. Before 1160, its founder William de Gros granted the monks land in Wawne and the church’s revenues in recognition of

A landmark Venetian Gothic church is #ScottishChurchOfTheWeek. Built in 1866, Ardrossan & Saltcoats Kirkgate Parish Church, constructed in striking polychromatic stone, has a four stage spire.

This is debate over the actual architect.
