hi, I'm rev, purveyor of disastrous hl cooking, dumb shitposts, and fire brainrot. hexachromatic hierarch is my wife and I love her very much. also, I am very silly and should not be taken seriously at any time

I don't bite and I like meeting people, feel free to say hi!
FUN FACT

of my collected first-known magna-no-illu faa solos, all 5 were on labor 12

first solo (which was light) and first water were also on 12

both of my recent grindy solo clears (magna earth, snakes) are also on 12

I really really want to write a thinkpiece about learning and teaching and components of player skill in gbf (as in it's trying to escape my body against my will)

miracles do happen (this is the first time I have ever seen a room deny a disband)

all except 2 of my halloween units were from scams, it's dire

had a host forfeit a faa with 4 labors up

which is not necessarily that weird but they did it at 4% while I had clearly been solo pushing for several turns and was also clearly still alive

like c'mon man

this is not from the video I just think it's funny

oh, I see what you mean! I definitely agree that - making the most out of an imperfect box is /extremely/ responsive to skill

it's more that, at least personally, a lot of how I got better at that skill was being able to test random garbage on a whim, and with a small box that's harder

I am very interested in the point you're making here but I'm not sure I understand what it is 😭

knowing how to build for a specific raids is definitely a discrete skill though

not rotb, ro10
February 6, 2026 at 5:21 PM
the worst minigame is back and they turned rotb into a normal boxing event? cygames hates me so much

tangentially: from my observations, a lot of what "good at grids" looks like in endgame players is just

1) access to the right pieces
2) some kind of idea of what is worth trying
3) willingness to try stuff

(2 is hiding a lot of skill ceiling, though)

I can test a nilakantha vs a mugen bow vs a m3 tempering vs a nwf vs a cs very trivially, and as a fairly grid-stupid person this means that I can usually gradient-descent my way to something usable
February 6, 2026 at 12:44 AM
"test it yourself" is maybe The core learning-feedback loop in gbf but it's a lot harder to implement with a shallow box

I could write an entire paper on the sociolinguistics of "sir" among granblue players

36 sands in the same shopping list as 75 feathers is crazy
February 4, 2026 at 2:55 AM
huh????

subhl has really high debuff res so expect to call bubs for 10db even with horus
February 2, 2026 at 10:35 PM
also, a lot of the obviously impressive decisionmaking in gbf tends to be in the setup or routing, so often it feels like "I could have done this if I had thought of it"

in practice I think galaxy brain setups also tend to involve extremely impressive execution components, it's just harder to see
February 2, 2026 at 3:58 PM
I find it pretty rare that I see a gbf gameplay showcase and go "how the fuck did they even do that"

but I think that's actually mostly because it's really hard to notice when something impressive is going on? impressively good execution often just looks like "everything works"

it's not pathetic but it is pretty funny!

reading this made me laugh because, at the time they announced it, I didn't really see how they were going to move the unchallenged triggers without completely messing up the raid

the time limit is really annoying but I assume it's to stop me from shotgunning resets in faa to get perfect apples or whatever
