Really interesting idea here. Especially when thinking about post modernism.
#367britlit MT: Atonement explores the morality of literature through the frame of achieving atonement from the perspective of a novelist who has absolute power of decision making she "is also a god."

MINI THESIS:
Never Let Me Go explores the effects of regret and trauma through the relationship with the children reflecting on their experiences at Hailsham and onward. God choice of storytelling allows Ishiguro to employ dissociative amnesia which makes Kathy H. untrustworthy.

MT: Texts in conversation create dialogue between authors. George and Lovelice do this here for Alice in Wonderland and A Room of One's Own.

The movie thus far is really applicable to what is happening in the world thus far and especially to Mr. Loverman.

I now hate the laundry guy. He used his power over şenay to rape her, and now I want him to die. But it does show the hard circumstances of immigrants.

This movie thus far has done a great job at showing the tension and the hard reality of immigrants living in countries. The surveillance reminds me of 1984.

MT: The ending to this story is meant to say something about homosexual relationships in our modern era.

Barrie is a really complicated character and complex. MT: Barries sexism towards others shows the cultural struggles of gender dynamics today.

MT: The ending being revealed in the beginning of the book showcases the cyclical nature of territorial teams, enemy/friend relationships, etc.

MT: Milkman is not only a person but an ideology and middle sister (by doing what she does) is accepting to that identity and becoming a part of it.

MT: Middle sisters refusal to open up to anyone, but opening up to longest friend reveals the realities of SA and a community of condemnation.

Why add a "real milkman"? What is the point? I am sure Burns does not want to just confuse the reader. I wonder if it is a metaphor for real love vs. Fake love, real love vs. Fake love or maybe even acceptance vs. diniterest. Both Milkmans are definitely very different.

MT: A "totalitarian government" causes cruelty and unlawful behavior, which makes people "escape" by storytelling (however bad the stories are😂).

This ending was exactly what I didn't want. After all this time with these charachters and THATS the ending?! Bruh.
I didn't get my happy ending I wanted.

Of McEwin wanted me to like Briony more because she is "helping people now" you can forget about it.
Also, how the letter wrote about the book Briony wrote is how I felt reading this, lol.

The ideas of perspective are even further established: MT: Briony represents the false/untrustworthiness of the world around us and the necessity of truth.

MT: The rage that Briony has in chapter 7 of "slashing nettles" is a representation of the flaws and shortcomings of perspective and POV.
