Tax benefits for labor income (W2) is limited in favor of tax savings for businesses and capital. If Americans extol the virtues of hard work, why don’t we offer tax benefits to those working for their money rather than expand taxes savings to those who have their money working for them? #TaxtheRich

Based on the recent rhetoric from Trump, he will drive the economy through military investment and declare war with his new toys. He now awaits his moment to disband congress and elections in order to “save” the country from some perceived threat. Obvious parallels with previous dictators.

People are easily lulled into caring about things that don’t matter, and they lose any interest in the things that do matter. And this fact is exploited by society for the benefit of the few.

Inflation concerns seem to have evaporated as concerns over asset values have heated up. But that doesn’t mean inflation is still all around us. You can see it in how restaurants are displaying their prices: crossed out, rewritten, blacked out al together Winter is coming!

Why do we spend our lives conforming to rules set out for us by others and yet also cheer on those who don’t? I’d say because we need rules to live peacefully and productively, but we hate that we have to have laws at all. But oh that old Prisoner’s Dilemma!

When you put your faith in “God” you are putting your faith in the people who tell you about god and those who wrote the holy books; your faith is not in God herself, but in the stories that we tell about her. Humans are not infallible like gods, so be cautious as to whom you trust with your faith.

Gold is considered the ultimate “hard” currency. But gold’s value derives from humans’ desire to look at shiny things. And this shiny yellow metal with a low melting point and limited use cases grasp on the human psyche allows faith in its demand to give it value. So isn’t gold a fiat currency too?
