A confused individual seeking truth. Here are my findings.
Peace president goes to war with Venezuela to stop fentanyl smuggling, but fentanyl is produced in China. Raises tariffs on China, who then stops buying soybeans from US farmers, opting to buy them from Argentina, who is getting a $20B bailout from the US. #Obvious #IntellectualDishonesty

“Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration."
- Abraham Lincoln, 1861

FAA issues arising from the gov’t shutdown impact the wealthy far more than the working class. The reopening of the gov’t will be a reaction to capital losing money and not because people are starving. Sad reality of the US ethos: “Greed is Good”. #PeopleOverProfits

We complain about government being inefficient and bureaucratic, while also choosing not to invest in government systems and personnel to make them better, because government is inefficient and bureaucratic.

Tax benefits for labor income (W2) is limited in favor of tax savings for businesses and capital. If Americans extol the virtues of hard work, why don’t we offer tax benefits to those working for their money rather than expand taxes savings to those who have their money working for them? #TaxtheRich

Disney makes the best ads in the world. For example, The Disney Channel is just one long commercial for toys, clothes, costumes, gift wrap, party supplies, etc. Their secret is making them entertaining.

Based on the recent rhetoric from Trump, he will drive the economy through military investment and declare war with his new toys. He now awaits his moment to disband congress and elections in order to “save” the country from some perceived threat. Obvious parallels with previous dictators.

People are easily lulled into caring about things that don’t matter, and they lose any interest in the things that do matter. And this fact is exploited by society for the benefit of the few.

Higher interest rates annoy those with assets; higher inflation annoys those without assets.

Inflation concerns seem to have evaporated as concerns over asset values have heated up. But that doesn’t mean inflation is still all around us. You can see it in how restaurants are displaying their prices: crossed out, rewritten, blacked out al together Winter is coming!

Why do we spend our lives conforming to rules set out for us by others and yet also cheer on those who don’t? I’d say because we need rules to live peacefully and productively, but we hate that we have to have laws at all. But oh that old Prisoner’s Dilemma!

Fascism and stagflation are two concepts that most Americans don’t understand. Unfortunately, they are about to get a crash course in both.

When deregulation parties with greed, the revelry is epic; but the hangover is so bad even those that didn’t get invited to the party feel the pain too.

Omne ignotum pro magnifico -
Everything unknown is taken as magnificent. In other words, the monster is scariest before you see it. And it’s within the unknown that those who wish to distort reality prey on our ignorance for their own benefit. Hence the importance of a well educated populace.

When you put your faith in “God” you are putting your faith in the people who tell you about god and those who wrote the holy books; your faith is not in God herself, but in the stories that we tell about her. Humans are not infallible like gods, so be cautious as to whom you trust with your faith.

Gold is considered the ultimate “hard” currency. But gold’s value derives from humans’ desire to look at shiny things. And this shiny yellow metal with a low melting point and limited use cases grasp on the human psyche allows faith in its demand to give it value. So isn’t gold a fiat currency too?
