Oh, that 1986 Glastonbury performance of it sends chills...

That orange prick is going to get the fucking peace prize, isn't he?

Some kid at school stuck one of these on the doors of all the art teachers, including mine. 100% agree, and well done the youth of today.

When I was 16 (1986) I used to see someone live at the Barrowland almost every two weeks. Tickets were £5, which was my pocket money.
Unless kids are getting a ridiculous amount of pocket money nowadays, then this won't be happening anymore.

I'm pretty sure if they rearranged themselves it would make a Canadian flag.

And that's before we get to "The Sermons of Reverend A.W. Nix", "African American Drum & Fife Music in Tennessee" or "The History of Virginia Reels".

...the "Use of Jazz as a Weapon in the Cold War", or the "Black Gospel Quartet Tradition". There's books on them.
"Mississippi Antibellum Fiddle Music", "Yodelling & Meaning in American Music", or "Race in Early American Punk"?
Yup, they've got that.

I love the American Made Music book series. 110 books on obscure corners of American music.
Want a book on "Black Travelling Shows of the early 1900's", "Louisiana Fiddlers", or "Mississippi Delta Hip-Hop"? They've published it.
Need to know about "Go Go Music from Washington DC", ...

I managed to wake myself enough to switch on "record" and sing the song, half asleep, then went back to my dreams, content I had written a surefire hit.

In the morning, I rushed to play back the recording...
To find myself slowly humming the melody of "Happy Birthday To You."

Back in the day, when I was a musician, I used to dream songs which would then be forgotten in the morning. Eventually, I placed a small tape recorder beside the bed, and one night had a dream in which I had written a song so catchy that the whole world sang it...

The game's over. This is only going to get worse.

I'm not a fan of "nostalgia" gigs, and I hate those hologram tours. So I can't explain how last year I found myself with tears rolling down my cheeks at the Abba Voyage show.
Seriously, if you haven't already seen it, go whilst those holograms are still young.

My home town. Makes you proud to have been born and bred there. Not.

That's Grangemouth folk for you. All the chemicals from the BP.

There were 401 albums eligible for the Scottish Album of the Year Award. I've heard 8 of them. Officially out of touch.

I often think about Marcus Mumford interview from 2012 in Q magazine, where he told people he wasn't posh: "We were all working, we weren't bankrolled. I packed boxes in a wedding-list company...and the other boys did some antique warehouse stuff". You couldn't help but laugh.

I went to The Long Walk yesterday. Very good.
