When someone seems off-put by me, sometimes I tell them I’m neurodivergent, and then see them instantly understand and become comfortable.
But my behavior hasn’t changed. They just accept it. I don’t understand why they can’t just be accepting in the first place.

I have meds for bipolar/depression but I haven’t been taking them because my psych moved and I haven’t found a new one to refill my prescription. I don’t want to run out and suddenly be losing my mind.

By contrast, I've found the most valuable idea to internalize is that bad things didn't happen to me because I wasn't good, or valuable enough. That what happened to me said more of the people who hurt me. Looking back, blame was unnecessary, and I was often the only person placing it on me.
I watch a good amount of mental health videos and occasionally come across ones made by non-professionals encouraging their viewers to consider themselves as possibly being the bad guy in their lives. Which blows my mind, as it's the WORST thing you could say to a victim of abuse.
