And so my last day at Eurogamer arrives!

Worked out I've written around 3700 articles over the past four years, so thought I'd highlight a few of my favourites.

We've just had a full reveal for Project Windless, a single-player action RPG long in development at the Montreal studio set up by PUBG publisher Krafton. https://bit.ly/407IwWR

Wow this game really is a nonsensical crock of shite riddled with incomprehensible set pieces and QTEs. And that was just Leon's campaign, I do not have the energy for the rest.

Very happy to see such positive reviews for Nioh 3. The first release I’ve worked on in PR, glad to see media loving it as much as I enjoyed the demo!

Catching up on Resi 6 before Requiem. I remember refusing to play this back in the day because of the reviews.

I already hate the QTEs.

(I’m also pretty sure it was never intended to be played on a Steam Deck but needs must)

It’s a Zelda Lego and chill afternoon.

(The bloody size of that manual 😅)

I am settled in for the weekend

Having not really played a Fable game, last night's reveal felt like "just another fantasy game" to me...until they showed the NPC interactivity and morality systems, which seem genuinely novel and exciting.

Beast of Reincarnation is definitely "my thing" but I'm yet to see what makes it special?

Requiem is looking SO good from last night's showcase. I skipped Resi 6 though, suspect I may need to rapidly play that in advance...

Think I’m done with Hyrule Warriors after almost 50hrs. Nearly all the quests are done but the remaining are so grindy I don’t have the energy.

It’s mindless and the lore is pointless, yet somehow I felt compelled to play it for ages. I guess flashy Zelda scratches my brain.

Very happy to announce I’ve now made the jump from journalism to PR and have joined the gaming team at Premier in London. Exciting projects ahead I look forward to sharing more on soon!

Finally, after so many years, I am going to play this. Goodbye for the foreseeable.

And there it is, my final piece for Eurogamer on my game of the year!

That’s Metroid Prime 4 done. Too much of this time was aimlessly wandering the desert and that absolutely atrocious final boss.

Overall it’s…fine? It’s a serviceable sci-fi adventure, it looks and sounds great and plays well with some decent standout moments.

With all the discourse around AI and voice actors, I wanted to delve deeper.

Big thanks to all I spoke to, especially David Menkin, Jennifer Hale, Alix Wilton Regan, and Colin Ryan for being so candid.
"The effect is, frankly, catastrophic" - the voice actors and unions fighting back against gaming's controversial use of AI

Job news!✨

Today marks my last week at Eurogamer, and my last as a games journalist. Working for Eurogamer was a dream for me, and I'm incredibly proud of the work I've achieved, but the time has come for me to move on in the industry to something new.

Been having a great time with Nightreign's DLC, but I still wish this had more longterm support because I'm greedy.
Elden Ring Nightreign's The Forsaken Hollows DLC only amplifies the highs of the base game, but greedily I still want more

There are few greater feelings than finally having the perfect Nightreign run, max level, and then getting the final blow on the Nightlord when your teammates are both downed and it’s your first try. Just been dancing round my living room like a normal person.

Metroid Prime 4 and Nightreign DLC on the same day is criminal because how am I meant to choose?

Metroid won.
