gm Lisbon!

Today I’ll be leading a painting workshop + sharing the journey from physical to digital art. Can’t wait 🙌🎨
Open for 24 hours…

I made this piece while thinking about the times I felt most alive & present in the moment.

Which is usually when I'm traveling, making art and pushing outside my comfort zone.

I wanted the piece to evoke a feeling of letting go; surrendering to the natural order of things.
gm ☀️ feeling “Alive”

Now that the open edition mania is mostly behind us, it’s time to finally launch one of my own.

I’m excited to have a lower-cost entry point (.042 eth), with a piece I’m super proud of... 🧵

So it’s the pretending part that’s the problem?

Sounds like a human issue - not an issue with the tool itself.

Not saying it doesn’t have issues, but those saying AI is the problem should also take a look at the best digital artists using the new tool. Not just those who pretend to be painters.
Totally agree.. but one nuance here is that you can also put love and effort into prompt writing, similar to art direction being given to creative assistant.

More real art genres include poetry or song writing, so prompt writing is perfect for these kinds of artists to express themselves visually
Painters in the 1800s said nature is doing all the work when you shoot a photo of a sunset. Similar, no?

Writing good poetry is a valid art form, and so prompt writing (not prompt vomit like you said)…

Even with help from AI, is already becoming its own niche / genre of art. Artist are unstoppable
A sarcastic statement like that says more about you than the tool / topic at hand…

You can focus on whatever subject matter you want.

I’ll be using AI to really push my concepts and elevate my hand drawn abstract work 👌
Congrats, you showed your true colors here 🫶
That doesn’t seem like the best way to speak about other creative people who are fighting a similar fight
People remix and collage things for a long time before AI. “authorship” needs to be redefined for this century

I hand draw my art & am proud of it. but I’m not afraid to use AI tools to help speed up my process or get better ideas.

I’m already combining references in my head when I’m hand drawing.
I wonder why people always use this argument…
Agree that cameras force you to be more deliberate, Vs writing some words as a prompt.

I most hand draw and paint my work, use Ai to sketch ideas if I don’t already have an idea. AI will become a part of many more artists’ toolsets, to speed up their process.

It’s all about how you use it.
I’m pretty sure you can point a camera at any work of art (ex: a person standing in front of street art mural) and that would be closer to “stealing” art.

That’s been happening for decades. Again it’s all about how the tool is used. There’s always been ways to steal art.
like the camera….

It’s about the person using the tool and what they do with it, not the tool itself

When they invented cameras and ink markers, people like you said it was “shit” or “cheating”
Always surprised when I see people ignore an entire movement of artists and creators because they don’t understand or like a new technology

how do ya feel now that AI generative tools are literally incorporated into photoshop?
