The dog has been put on a few medications. Time will tell if it does any good.
The very old pug dog I live with has gotten sick lately and she seems very badly off. A vet visit is being arranged, of course. Worried.

The toki pona learning proceeds, if slowly. My brain has always been slow at learning new patterns of data, such as the grammar of languages. Once the neurons stop being so fussy and latch on, though, I usually accelerate from there.
As it goes, the first (or maybe second) step is the biggest one.

I'm trying to learn toki pona lately. Firstly because one of my friends is very into it. Second because I want to put it in my game as a second language. (similar to how Ultima uses the runic alphabet for some things, etc)

I was wondering why saving to disk in my map editor was so terribly slow.
Then I finally discovered that I was saving the data to disk thousands of times in a row, because I forgot to move the .save() line of code out of a loop. oops. #gamedev

I followed through on this simple map editor idea. It's going well. #GodotEngine itself offered no resistance. I just had to decide on how exactly to package and process my data. Good stuff. Focusing on producing metadata for the simulation system for now. The 3d will be later.

I'm hoping to leverage the 2d tilemap features of #Godotengine to create a tile-based world map. However, it won't be used directly. My hope is to use tilemap as an easy world editor, which can then "bake" the multiple layers of 2d data into a set of 3d tiles via @tool shenanigans.

I hadn't played Doom TNT or Plutonia, since I didn't know they existed back then. I'm finally catching up.
Went through Plutonia first, but found it very frustrating and not in a fun way. A lot of tedious and repetitive traps. I felt reluctant to finsh the whole thing, but I did. For TNT...
