Honestly, I don’t know if Schumer is withholding an endorsement to help Mamdani.
As Mamdani cruises to victory without their support, how can Democratic leadership be allowed to stay in their positions. If they’re this irrelevant to electoral opinion then why are they fit for leadership?
Lander. AOC has to get ready for the Whitehouse

The media is about to blitz us with stories about how awful Maduro is and I want you to remember that even if they're all true, they are being issued solely for the purpose of manufacturing consent for invading Venezuela and killing innocent people.

No one should have to put up with this shit but in particular kids should not have to put up with this shit
Indoor trick-or-treat events. Candy dropoffs. Neighbors patrolling with whistles.

This is how Chicagoans are helping kids have a safe and ICE-free Halloween this year: blockclubchi.co/47qJSzi.
I think any socialist aware of what liberals have done to communist parties and socialist movements outside of the US would think that. The imperial boomerang and all that.
Israel just bombed Qatar a couple weeks ago. Corrupt losers
You make better money as a fascist in a capitalist system because it makes you a more valuable tool for capitalists. It’s just money, usually. Working class socialists are generally consistent, maybe lib a bit to better organize.
It’s just money. They see their elected position as a step in their personal careers, and their job is to make their future employers happy. No show jobs consulting for a military contractor is a sweet retirement plan.

⚡️At least 63 Palestinians, including 24 children, have been killed in ongoing Israeli airstrikes targeting homes and tents sheltering displaced families across the Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera reports, citing hospital sources.

Hexagonal box design for Civ VI, obviously
It makes the leadership of the party look wishy washy and subservient to the will of a foreign power. They’re the leadership of the Party. If they look weak then the entire Party looks weak. That’s how it works.
It’s not just about Hakeem, though. The Party needs to associate with popular candidate to benefit all Democrats running. Hakeem is sinking the whole fleet, not just his ship alone.
I care that he endorse, not because it’ll have effect on the outcome, but because it’s good for the Party to associate itself with popular and exciting candidates. He’s really putting a damper on enthusiasm, which is the Dems Achilles heel.
The Democratic Party doesn’t pick leaders to run it, they just pick the folks who’ve hung around long enough. It’s a huge problem. Look at Gerry Connelly
I think you’re missing something here. Mamdani is winning by huge margin over Cuomo, the Party’s preference, and he’s winning without the endorsement of Jefferies. This makes the Party look weak. It makes Jefferies look weak. He’s fucking the Democratic brand to not step on Israeli toes.
Nothing says leadership like not articulating a position.
Too be clear, I don’t believe this is the case. I think there is a better Democratic Party evolving out of the Clintonian husk of the 90s. However, this is the message being sent to many voters with shit like this. Hakeem needs to get the memo. Bringing up Israel in a mayoral race is crazy.
Shouldn’t we have bulldozed the Whitehouse years ago, or at the very least turned it into a museum? The veneration of a slave-built mansion is borderline superstitious.
You’d almost think there are two Democratic Parties. One that’s good, and one that sucks because of Israel.
For the military? The only thing worse than a lie is a stupid lie.
We’re probably about the same age, then. I’m not saying that campaign rhetoric is all you should go on when voting, but I am saying it’s pretty much all we have related to future voting behavior being there’s no history of like state level governance, you know.
I mean your only source of potential voting behavior is his campaign promises. That’s kind of an advantage of not being an incumbent unless the incumbent has a popular record. I’d like someone else at this point myself, but I’m not a Mainer anyway.
But none of that’s a voting record, so how does it inform you of his potential future voting record? We also have to factor in who he is running against. Collins has a voting record and it mostly sucks.
His voting behavior is best guessed by what he says he’d support in his campaign. If you’re worried about corruption, which is a 50/50(corruptible/not corruptible), then you need to prepare for mass strike, dissent, civil disobedience, etc. because that’s the only defense against corruption really
