Rainbow is still alive and still with us there is a part 2 to this story, believe it or not rainbow baby is alive in these photos but very very poorly 🌈 Rainbow’s Story 🌈 Several weeks ago, we introduced you to a tiny, very poorly little pup named Rainbow. It’s been hard to share regular updates because, truthfully, we’ve been on an emotional rollercoaster with her — full of hope, heartbreak, and everything in between. For nearly four long weeks, our incredible vets have fought tirelessly to save her. They ran every test imaginable and tried absolutely everything possible. At her lowest point, Rainbow was so weak she couldn’t even lift her head. She couldn’t eat, she’d wasted away to nothing, and her little body was just so tired. There were moments when we had to face the devastating thought of letting her go… but even then, we could see that spark in her eyes — that tiny glimmer of fight. And we promised her: as long as she was willing to fight, we’d fight right beside her. And slowly, ever so slowly, she began to turn a corner. Little by little, Rainbow started to regain her strength. She began to hold her head up again, to find her balance, to take her first wobbly steps — just like a newborn deer finding its legs. She even had to learn how to eat all over again. Every tiny victory felt like a miracle. Last week, we got the news we’d all been praying for — the vet felt she was finally strong enough to come home. We were overjoyed and thought the hardest part was finally behind us. But our brave little girl wasn’t done writing her story just yet… because it turns out, Rainbow still had an even bigger mountain to climb.

**** Sad update on Lottie **** On Monday morning, we dropped Lottie off at the vet in the hope of getting some answers about what was going on with her hips. What we discovered has shocked and upset us all. As Lottie is older, we asked for blood tests to be run before her anaesthetic to make sure it was safe for her. This raised an issue with her liver function, which was quite severe. At that point, the vets were not happy to put her under a general anaesthetic, so they performed a scan. This highlighted a very serious issue, and it was decided that some X-rays were needed. This in itself was a risk, as she would need mild sedation — and with her liver issues, this was quite dangerous — but we needed the information they could give us. The X-rays brought catastrophic news. At some point, several years ago, Lottie had suffered a major trauma, leaving her with devastating injuries. The X-rays showed that both her femoral necks had fractured, and she also had a previously broken leg. But the worst was yet to come — she also had a diaphragmatic hernia that had allowed her liver, spleen, and some intestines to move into her chest area, reducing her lung capacity and crushing her heart. It’s truly amazing that the only issue she currently has is with her liver function. (These are all untreated injuries.) After consulting with two other vets, a decision was made that surgery was not an option due to her compromised liver function, the age of the injuries, and their severity. The risk of trying to repair the hernia was extremely high, and the three vets we spoke to all felt that her chances of surviving such a long operation — and the numerous follow-up surgeries she would need — were almost non-existent. We all agreed that it’s about quality, not quantity, and that we want Lottie to have the best chance at life she can have. Lottie is happy, comfortable, and still loving life. She is gaining weight and, for now, will be staying with her foster home while we decide on her…

With her foster family, Elsie enjoyed a walk around the grounds. The Autumn colours are starting to look wonderful, however Elsie was much more interested in looking out for squirrels 🙈😂

Elsie is booked to have her heart scan on 20th October, however in the meantime she is on a week's holiday in Shropshire. Elsie was rather confused yesterday when her foster mum called in at 'her' service station on the drive up, as Elsie has never seen a motorway service station as posh

the process slowly so they enjoy going but she stood on the table really well and heard the sound of the blower and the clippers and she stood in the bath with the water on with lots of fuss and reassurance and was an absolute star x

Litttle pepper had a little trim at the groomers she didn’t have a bath as we didn’t want to overwhelm her with her first visit it’s so important for dogs that will need regular grooming to be introduced to

needs removing and to complicate matters she has a grade 4 heart murmur that requires her to need a heart scan to give us a clear picture of what’s going on. Obviously this is going to cost us a few pennies to get her sorted but we know she deserves her start
