Health policy and economics. Some Prince, some Minnesota. Opinions my own.
But the good news is that if your brother shows clear evidence of enjoying his gift after three months, you will get one too.

Thatโ€™s a weird way of saying that. One could just say something like, โ€œI donโ€™t buy your inference bc it relies on assumption X which doesnโ€™t hold for reason Y.โ€ If someone canโ€™t articulate it like that, it just seems ornery.

ICYMI: New paper for causal effects with panel data, subsuming other approaches. We generate realistic synthetic data based on commonly studied datasets, showing our method substantially outperforms others and providing insight about what in the data-generating process corresponds to gains.

Rethinking Prior Authorization in Medicare Advantage
Prior authorization can help encourage the efficient use of health care resources in Medicare Advantage, but there should be limits on when itโ€™s required.

I know itโ€™s hard, but remember that it wasnโ€™t just Cassidy that voted for this. It was every GOP senator but McConnell. And a lot of needless suffering will result.
RFK Jr had committed to Bill Cassidy, as a condition to win his vote, that he would keep website language.

Cassidy in February: โ€œIf confirmedโ€ฆ CDC will not remove statements on their website pointing out that vaccines do not cause autism.โ€

Note the language in second photo.

CSWEP strongly condemns Larry Summersโ€™ behavior as revealed in the email correspondence with the late Jeffrey Epstein. While abuse of power in the economics profession is not new, rarely has the intent behind such abuse been so clearly stated.

I'm not a connoisseur, but I've been reasonably pleased with my attempts using vegetarian beef bouillon as a base, since the onions drive much of the flavor.

I assume enrollees will also negotiate that latter part with the federal govt. Because enrollees LOVE negotiating and the problem is that they don't get to negotiate enough. I only hope we'll see Medicare enrollees start negotiating their own Physician Fee Schedules. What a dream.

There's a lot to say about this, but I think most people understand at a gut level that insurance companies don't have much incentive to negotiate with an individual person. No individual will drive an insurer's margin, unless it's by being catastrophically expensive. Who even wants this?
