Someone out there needs this reminder: If you're planning to cook a Tofurkey tomorrow, you should be moving it to the fridge to thaw right about now.

Properly gendering someone isn't something we let them have as a treat if they're good. We really can't let it become conditional; that plays into the idea that it's optional in general.

Funny story: ‘Grue Theory’, the claim that monsters will eat you in the dark, remained a popular delusion from 1977 until disproven by the band Nirvana in 1991.

My god, it’s full of Charlie Brown.

In Hardwar, the NPC players are actually vital to keeping the in game economy moving. Disrupting their actions enough (or just killing enough of them, since they don't respawn) can affect the ecbony badly enough to stop you from progressing the plot.
i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago

so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?

Guys, I just can't get over how bad the Cybertruck's styling is. And I *like* that 70s/80s fold-and-crease styling. The proportions are just awful. There are 70s VW kit cars made out of foam board that look better. Here's one.

yes and more to the point having Mamdani go "oh well um erm" about "Is Trump a Fascist?" and Trump go "ha ha, its fine" turns that (and despot, and anything else) from a deadly serious totally real statement that might (maybe) reach people into "ah they don't mean it, politics as usual!"

I've seen lots of people complain that tech bros always miss the point of cyberpunk literature. But I would argue of *course* they do. Nearly every cyberpunk setting has nerds as the badass heroes of the story. Tech bros want nothing more than a world where people look up to them as badass heroes.

This is the hardest I have seen any member of Congress work to try and address transphobia in Congress, and her ability to get nearly all Democratic lawmakers to sign onto this letter is something any first would applaud
House Dems unite to tell GOP to stop "demonizing" trans people with "dehumanizing" slurs - LGBTQ Nation
Rep. Nancy Mace's "tra**y, tra**y, tra**y!" tirade is just one example.

Any time capsule summaries come up, I think of the best capsule summary of a TV episode I ever saw. It was for the Squidbillies episode "Giant Foam Dickhat Trouble" and read, "Early's party hat enrages God."
Literally how could you not have already had a capsule summary of **THE GODFATHER**.

Like, they must have had one, right? This isn't the first time it's been on streaing. They're not just using slop, they're replacing actual useful copy they already had with slop
I guess they’re using AI for the plot summaries now?

Stray is a game that gives you choices like, "before you continue your quest, would you like to knock some things off a shelf and then fall asleep on a resting robot's chest for a while?" There is no wrong answer.

I think this will be remembered as the era when we broke the nostalgia cycle by relentlessly driving it into the ground in the pursuit of built-in audiences.
"Remember those films you liked a kid? What if we broke them down minute by minute and did a separate movie about every single piece of lore, until you feel like you've been huffing gasoline? Would that work for you?"
