Members at UWS took their 7th day of strike action today in their fight for job security.

Our members would prefer to be doing what they do best, delivering high quality education to students. They are instead on the picket line and will be until UWS engages in talks with the EIS.

Workshop 4 is titled Building Power in Trade Disputes. This session will cover the tools and processes for collectivising around workplace issues and winning member-led campaigns, covering how to escalate issues, from collective grievances to formal disputes.

Organising conversations are structured discussions designed to build relationships and strengthen workplace branches. This workshop aims to boost confidence in both core organising and negotiation techniques, focusing on communication strategies that help move people towards a shared position.

EIS FELA President Anne-Marie Harley appeared on BBC Reporting Scotland yesterday to discuss the proposed closure of the Alloa campus at Forth Valley College.

He further highlighted the lack of
infrastructure and resources available in schools to respond to incidents in a way that focuses on the young person while also checking in on education staff involved in the incident.
