when they find that something is judicially unreviewable they are mostly avoiding giving a precedent that would allow lower courts to review it (for this exact reason) but they never indicate that something unreviewable by them as the Supreme Court, its just for the lower courts

right but they haven't directly stated that precedent, and if the president were to attack the court directly they could rule that to be unconstitutional

I do think Reagan would have been cool with trumps stances on russia and nato, he was a committed anti-communist not a believer in international freedom! but overall his politics really don't line up with trump's!

you see this same dynamic on a much smaller scale with US diplomacy particularly on the more desirable foreign postings (Rahm Emanuel ambassador to Japan)

fwiw the wolf warrior stuff is a reflection of the extremely low priority the diplomatic and foreign services offices get so they end up with low quality talent and other freaks who are too connected to fire, the military planners and top civilian leadership doesn't have this problem as much.

love for LKY is a major thing for a subset of older, relatively more educated (pre-edpol) american conservatives (i.e. the type who write articles), the American right loves both Disneyland and the death penalty it only makes sense that they would have affection for Singapore

I apologize for using this term, but this basically sounds like a "lolcow" in internet speak who has sort of leaned into the monetized aspect of that social role (and is clearly far more self aware about their relations with their audience and their own mental illness).

Yeah that’s a good way to describe the distinction, but one of those ideas is wayyyy stupider than the other and so if he were willing, Klein could really learn a lot!
