The handsworth green party was full of energy and community yesterday, so many people on the doorstep already knew @edfreshwater.bsky.social and his commitment to "a vibrant and welcoming area, that has been horribly lies about in the past". I doorsteped people in North Birmingham today the number of "voted labour, never again" answers I got were coming in faster than the rain.
The second most frequent "we need a real change, people who have come in say one thing and do another"
But the last was "wait the greens are viable? I'll look"

Rest in power Benjamin Zephaniah, Always missed, never forgotten (favourite experience of my time at University of Birmingham was meeting him and having very earnest conversation as an undergraduate to a national treasure and he treated me as an equal. We should all be like him)
