Okay so I have a confession to make... I've owned a copy of Magica Riot by @magicariot.com for months but I'm only just now getting around to it (actually the audiobook version). And it's SO MUCH FUN. Like, I'm only a quarter of the way in but wow, this book was written for me

“can people be normal on ao3?” no. that’s quite literally the point. that website was created specifically to give freaks who like freaky shit a place to publish their works. if freaks liking freaky shit makes you uncomfortable, you can choose a different website.

That's interesting! It's an important fight! That needs to happen! You've spent all book letting it happen, building to the real conversation that lays groundwork for moving forward!

But you're trying to adjust, trying to find the balance of someone else being more important, trying to let them find ways to support even when you know what they're doing won't work

That mirrored some of the tensions that were part of the case. Not...SUPER competently, mostly just people getting stressed and snapping exactly the correct wording for their issues like THAT'S how it works EITHER, but at least digging into the core relationship at the center of the books

B) that's not super interesting to read once you're into "everything is resolved"

And this last book in the series was actually doing some interesting interpersonal stuff

And those lives should be interesting and complicated and contain characters that are PEOPLE.

I think maybe it's because we try so hard to be, like,making cozies safe spaces? But if everyone has had an adult conversation about their trauma and then healed from it and moved on, like...
