I loved the discussion about carbs and how they're often deemed bad when in reality they're a very important part of everyones diet. They help us absorb essential nutrients to sustain life and provide proper energy to live that life. I wish more people understood this. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

This is such an important realization many don't understand, especially when discussing healthy and balanced diets. It is close to impossible to do without a large budget or assistance and its frustrating and harmful when people deny this. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social
18 million Americans were food insecure in 2023. And this is even before the snap crisis.

That’s 13.5 percent of Americans

Hey! I totally agree, I have often had to explain the difference between fats. Im a big believer in everything in moderation because even stuff deemed "healthy" can be unhealthy in large quantities, but fat is needed in our diet! #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

This hit me hard because I have a hard time with typical "healthy" foods and what you should be eating exactly because it never felt good for me and my body. Over time I realized you need to adjust your diet to fit your body's needs because everyone is different. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
There’s a difference in choosing foods that make you feel physically better versus following rules because you “should”.

Hi! I love this, it is so true. Just because there is correlation doesn't mean causation, we should be looking for strong, proven science from more than one source/study. Also to check for human studies rather than just animals like mice. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I took note to watch for bold claims without cited or peer-reviewed sources, especially articles that are trying to sell a product. If it sounds too simple/easy or “miraculous” that’s a big red flag to me. Also crazy how easily facts can be twisted or lied about. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I am a Diagnostic Medical Sonography major graduating in 2027. I am taking this course because it fits my schedule and fulfills a BEH requirement. I want to learn the ideal diet for someone with POTS. Healthy eating= mindful, and I love buffalo chicken. @beh353 #beh353
