Emerging economies are outpacing advanced markets in EV uptake.

The payoff is clear – EVs use three times less energy than petrol and diesel cars, which can cut fossil demand by:
🇧🇷 94% in Brazil
🇮🇩 Nearly half in Indonesia, despite a fossil-heavy grid

Rising EV penetration in #ASEAN can help reduce fossil fuel use.

Compared to petrol and diesel cars, EVs cut ~50% fossil use in Indonesia despite a fossil-reliant power grid, and 63% in Viet Nam.

Latin American countries are fast adopting EVs, which are more efficient than petrol and diesel cars, and help reduce fossil fuel imports.

🇺🇾 27% of new car sales are EVs in 2025, on par with the EU
🇨🇷 17%
🇨🇴🇧🇷 ~10%

Emerging markets are now driving China's EV export boom, with Brazil, Mexico, the UAE and Indonesia among the top destinations this year.

🇨🇳’s EV exports to non-OECD markets have TRIPLED since July 2023 (+$16.2bn) vs. 5% rise to OECD (+$2.7bn).

New South Wales accounts for 38% of Australia’s coal mine methane emissions. But satellite analysis estimates that actual emissions could be DOUBLE that.

Reducing data discrepancies ensures the right methane mitigation is adopted.

Lower electricity prices are KEY to boosting heat pump deployment in the EU.

A few ways to cut electricity prices to be more competitive with gas:
➡️ Shifting policy costs from electricity to general taxes or gas
📉 Reducing network costs
❌ Cutting VAT

Non-energy costs like taxes and policy costs can make up 75% of electricity bills in some EU countries 💶

High electricity bills make heat pumps more expensive – and less likely to be adopted – than gas boilers, despite being 2-3x more efficient!
