GenX (52) trans woman trying to stay sane in the midst of madness. Landback. Abolish prisons. Defy your granfalloons. I post my wins.

The first step was accepting that I was powerless over my gender identity and that my life had become unmanageable.

The second step was realizing that transotion could restore me to sanity.

And it has.
I wouldn't condemn a Ukranian for shooting occupying Russian soldiers in E Ukraine, either.

Don't ask for clarification.

Absolutely not. It takes place during the antarctic winter, which runs from June-August. Are people really this unaware of the seasons?

I've attended both an Ivy (Columbia) and community colleges. The instructors I've had at community colleges are better on average than those I had at Columbia. You'll get a far better education by going the CC-State school route than going to any ivy.
One of the bragging rights that the US ed system had in the 20th century is that we didn't have education tracks. Essentially, any kid could go to a CC or state school & major in whatever they wanted to (obviously an oversimplification). I fear this aspect of the American dream is dying.

I kinda want to go see Black Flag at El Corazon in January. That sounds like a party worth attending. Anyone else interested? Hit my DMs; let's plan it.

Sense8, and it makes me cry every time.

It's telling that the current poster girl of American white supremacy got famous starring in a TV series where she was the third most attractive woman behind a woman of color and a trans woman.

Just sayin.

Meanwhile, Kirk is already in bed with her.
"Doctor McCoy. If she is a Barbie girl, is it not logical to presume that she might be found in a Barbie world?"

"Damn your green-blooded logic, Spock! Can't you see that a life in plastic is fantastic?"

We don't spend nearly enough time talking about the fact that the King of England wants to be a tampon. We also spend too little time discussing the fact that his familial wealth was primarily built by selling African people into chattel slavery.

I recall being absolutely terrified of showering in front of the boys in gym class, and when I expressed that fear to my older brother during the summer before 7th grade, he looked at me as though I was a freak to be apprehensive. My whole childhood & adolescence is full of non-boy experiences.
repeatedly relearning i never had a boy experience in my life
you know that constant terror you might do something too gay or girly and lose all your friends or worse

Ted Levine

Monk is great, but I keep expecting to hear "it puts the lotion in the basket" every time I watch, so I don't.
What actor are you so (rationally or not) repulsed by that their work, no matter how good, is unwatchable to you?

Leonardo DiCaprio

Random reminder: If you haven't yet, read Octavia Butler's Xenogenisis and Parable series. They're amazing. Especially if you're gender nonconforming.

The best thing about all this is that even if they both deny it, it will only make us more certain Bill Clinton's balls have danced a rumba on Hair Furor's chin.

Some of you might be like, "wait, there's a fire escape plan type thing for spiralling?" and yes! It varies depending on the person, and a therapist can help you figure out what works best for you, but I can help with some of the classics.
Coping skill checkpoint do you remember what to do if you start spiralling

Texas is not a red state. It's a blue state which systemically suppresses the Democratic vote.

Most of the trans women who came to my house for dinner a few nights ago have since reached out to me apprehensive that they somehow made a bad impression or made a fool of themselves, while also saying they enjoyed everyone's company. None of them made a bad impression or a fool of themselves.
