This is where people add cutesy things like "dogwalker" or "stargazer" or something. I'm just me.

God help me, I actually found a case where an LLM has made my job more efficient. I still don’t like the tech or the hype for many reasons.

I used dictation (built in accessibility feature) to brain dump what I wanted to write. Then I ran it through the LLM (MS Copilot) to edit it.

My dream last night mentioned Dole Whip and now I really, really want one.

Last time I travelled through SFO (a week ago) all the billboards were for AI. A few years ago, they were all for blockchain. In a few years they’ll be for something else.

If SV wants something to stick they should try solving real problems, not trying to shove unasked for “solutions” at us.

Between the gloomy weather and the nonsense clock change, it is dark outside already at 3:30 PM and I hate it to an unbelievable degree.

I currently have a lot to drink about.

I’m using online learning resources for agentic AI at work. Some of its examples are less convincing than others. Why yes, I do own a smart camera doorbell. It is accurate less than HALF the time and misses my damn package deliveries. Not off to a great start here.

In a couple of weeks I’m headed to the terrifying city of Portland, which is full of riots and fire and looting and so on. Gonna try to get into the good tiki bar and wait in line for too long for donuts. Maybe I’ll eat from a food truck. Gonna be dangerous but I think I can do it.

Take it back.

A D&D campaign but your characters are based on RV brand names.

Large organizations get so bogged down in process and checklists that they lose sight of reality. An example from product design at my current job: a long long time ago someone decided the target resolution for all our web software was 1280 by 1024. QA tests and files bugs based on this.

Now that I own a home I must maintain, I have come to the belief that both a) indoor plumbing and b) climate control were HUGE mistakes. SURE let’s put impossible to access pipes of toxic crud all through your house what could go wrong

My company’s HR team suggested prompts for AI to help write one’s self evaluation for the year. I tried it and it totally made up a different role for me, and a product line that doesn’t exist. Mirror universe Megan is probably happier in her job, too.

David accidentally locked his idiot cat son in the garage, who made exactly zero sounds to inform us of his plight. This is what happens when you think hiding under the car is the coolest shit ever, feline.

How come there is no construction cone emoji? As a Montrealer, this is really hindering my communication style.

In the summer, I really like kayaking on a lake, hiking, and camping. The second best part is communing with nature and the best part is no one tries to talk to me about AI.

Last year I finally got to go in one of these mobile lounge bus things, so I guess I'm a real Montrealer now.

I’m very sad that little Bean has a broken tooth. She’s pretty new for a kitty, just over 1 year old. This is like getting a new car and immediately scraping the side when parking.

The pale golden light and hint of smoke in the air from forest fires is making me homesick for BC. This is the world we live in now. Every summer, uncontrollable fire. And it’s now burned in my memory as normal.

My work colleague suddenly posted in the group Teams: “I have to go. My son and daughter in law are in ICE custody.”

ICE waited outside a Boston Target, making everyone leaving the store show ID.

Everyone cramming shitty AI chatbots into everything…

DO NOT FORCE ME TO HAVE A POLITE CONVERSATION WITH A FAKE PERSON TO ACCESS MY OWN DATA.

If bland templates killed website design, LLMs are killing user experience design.
