Goldsworthy Lowes Dickinson, who travelled with Forster to India, was born OTD in 1862.

Writing in his posthumous biography (published 1934), Forster described Dickinson as 'beloved, affectionate, unselfish, intelligent, witty, charming [and] inspiring'.
