Milton Keynes marked White Ribbon Day last night with the yearly vigil at the MK Rose. An emotive event of reflection, to think about the women and girls who have been lost to gendered violence, and how we can make our city safe to ensure that women and girls feel safe, heard and supported.

So glad that our Parliament will become the first national parliament in the world to become White Ribbon accredited.

We couldn’t do it without the amazing example that Milton Keynes has set to the nation as the first White Ribbon City in the country. Very proud 🤍

Last night Milton Keynes truly marked White Ribbon Day in style with the incredible Craftivism Exhibition in Middleton Hall that showcased the work of local activists, artists and organisations.

I was honoured to contribute my pottery piece “Survivor” to this exhibition.

It was great to see the craftivism event held by SAASS BMK and C2C Social Action in Milton Keynes to mark White Ribbon Day with paper chains and handprint messages of support, community and activism.

In Milton Keynes we are so privileged to have a city with such diversity of architecture and space, from our modern city centre to the historical towns and villages.

Our train station is also taking part in White Ribbon Day!

Keep your eye out for London Northwestern Railway representatives at Milton Keynes Central station who are encouraging passengers to make the White Ribbon promise.

Today, the 25th of November, we celebrate White Ribbon Day and begin the 16 days of activism that follows – 16 days to show how committed we are to tackling violence against women and girls.

A compelling argument that connects UK's commitment to foreign aid, a value-led foreign policy, & country's soft power capacity (& no discussion of culture or need for a 'soft power council'). Thank you, @emily4mk.bsky.social & @gareththomasmp.bsky.social www.independent.co.uk/voices/budge...
Yes, we must invest in defence – but not at the expense of our soft power
The government must not row back on its commitment to foreign aid in the budget next week - it’s a vital investment in a safer, stable and more prosperous world argue former ministers Emily Darlington...

Last month I had the opportunity to visit the wonderful Acorn Nursery in Kents Hill and celebrate their achievement of receiving an Outstanding Ofsted grading for the second time in a row!

This week in Parliament, I attended the annual Sainsburys Parliamentary drop-In!

As we approach the festive season, Sainsburys play a vital role in making Christmas magical for so many families – I want to say a huge thank you to Sainsbury’s colleagues, farmers, suppliers and charity partners.

SEND provision is a matter that many residents have reached out to me about, and is one that I know is close to the heart of many parents and carers.

Last week, it was great to hold a SEND Forum alongside PACA MK.

Tech companies are restricting and hiding women’s health content which contains educational terms like “periods”, “menopause”, “vagina”, and “endometriosis” under the guise of “safety”.

It’s got to stop ⬇️

Big tech's sexism is jeopardising women's health
An internet on which you can’t say the word “vagina” in its proper context feels like something out of The Handmaid’s Tale. But it’s here, and it’s...

Ukraine’s mission to bring every abducted child home is about more than return - it’s about healing, safety, and hope. On World Children’s Day, I am supporting the Bring KidsBack UA initiative - a call to rebuild young lives shattered by war.

It was an honour last weekend to lay a wreath at the Armed Forces Day MK Dons match against Salford City.

A powerful way to celebrate and remember the contributions and sacrifices of our Armed Forces and their families.

Today I’ve written to the Home Secretary on behalf of the alleged British victims of Andrew and Tristan Tate.

Letting social media companies get away with monetising misinformation doesn’t protect democracy and free speech, it weakens it.

Great to see the gov pushing Ofcom to implement further protections in the Online Safety Act.

Liz Kendall is right - more delays prevent us from protecting women, children and minority groups from harm

As we move into November this is a month that is very close to my heart.

This month we will celebrate both White Ribbon Day and Equal Pay Day so it was great to meet with Fawcett to discuss various issues facing women and girls today.

Milton Keynes College is such an important part of our city, it offers a vast range of educational pathways from A-Levels to apprenticeships and university level qualifications.

This week it was great to join fellow Milton Keynes MP Chris Curtis to speak to apprentices at the college.
