Happy 13th Birthday to this little snuggler. Phoebe changed my life thirteen years ago and I am so grateful to be showering her with treats today. ❤️

I haven't been reading as much lately as I would like, but I'm thrilled to finally be digging into this one.

The poem I'm revising feels above my skill level, but I'm going to keep working on it. I won't give up. This poem and I will get there together.

No one is more chill during horror movies than Phoebe. She dozes during every single one. It's adorable.

I'm revising a poem. It's the most brutally honest one I have ever written. I typed out the last line and immediately began to cry.

We went to an open house today for the home my boyfriend lived in as a baby. It was wild to walk around a place he has pictures from but doesn't remember.

Soooooo the StokerCon programing survey is out and I really want to make a Dogs in Horror panel happen. There have been cat and bird panels in the past and I would love to talk about the evolving role of dogs in horror. Who is with me? 🐾

Phoebe is exhausted from the betrayal that is me cutting her hair. Gentle reader, she really needed it.

While ago, pub'ed "Franchise Potential" in my newsletter b/c "shady publisher" reasons. I love the heck outta this weird, anticapitalist slasher.

Then, I adapted it as a short script—which is now an Official Selection for the Sinister Horror Film Festival in Mexico City (and online) in December.

Watching more of The Beast in Me this evening because the performances are fantastic and reclusive writer who may or may not be loosing their mind going down a rabbit hole is my favorite genre.

Gonna spend the evening being incredibly cozy and listening to podcasts with my dog.

I'm a huge Perry Mason fan so it's been fun watching Chris Chalk in Welcome to Derry but watching Matthew Rhys play a rich asshole in The Beast in Me is jarring. Great performance, but so different.

My best friend since the third grade got us tickets to a live show of My Favorite Murder for my birthday even though my birthday isn't until January! It was EVERYTHING. 🖤

I stopped everything to make this last night and I stand by it. I'm fascinated and delighted how we're both so passionate about words but for different reasons. 🥰

I just got a very sweet poetry rejection where the editor even commented on their favorite part of a poem. Sometimes even disappointment can be framed in a way that warms the heart.
