I’m sorry this is happening at UNL, Susan. There should be a requirement that all Executives pass basic statistical literacy before appointment. I don’t get why they don’t get their β€œmetric” is rubbish and there is nothing data driven in their decision if they use faulty data. So appalling.

Last week I had the honour of presenting my PhD research on the development of a statistical model for the multi-enviornment trial analysis of agricultural count data at the Australasian Region Biometrics conference in Canberra. #BIBC2025 #Statistics #biometrics

I'm excited to be taking this to Analytics for the Australian Grain Industry (AAGI), as we aim to unify and advance crop analytics by developing a sustainable software suite and fostering a community of practice -- as per my recent talk at the AAGI symposium: emitanaka.org/slides/AAGI2...

If you develop software, you may need greater thought/research about the interface design. There is a lot to learn from successful systems like #Tidyverse.
November 23, 2025 at 10:47 AM
My paper "Examining the Interface Design of Tidyverse" is now published in ANZJS. This paper calls attention to the importance of UI/UX principles & approaches to statisiticians and #rstats developers.

Many thanks to reviewers who made this paper better!

Congratulations to my student, Maggie Ma, for publishing her first #rstats package {ggincerta} on CRAN πŸ₯³

Spatial uncertainty visualisation (bivariate, pixel, exceedance, glyph), like {Vizumap}, but fully integrated with ggplot2 -- a much simpler API with all the advantages of the ggplot2 system.
