Had a dream a while back in which I discovered the existence of the "Grave of the Fireflies/Super Mario World 2-in-1" for the Wii. It basically functioned as a DVD except for a "special features" section that literally only had an SNES emulator playing Mario World. It went for absurd prices on eBay

The cover for a fake Wii game consisting of both the 1988 Studio Ghibli film, Grave of the Fireflies, and Super Mario World; both are represented on the cover, the former by the poster of Seita carrying his sister Setsuko across a field and the latter by the artwork of Mario wearing a cape and riding Yoshi. The cover promises "TWO classics in ONE!".

Interesting question: What do you think are the defining animated films of the past 4 decades? Not everyone’s personal favorites, but the ones that are beloved by virtually everyone while defining and standing as the most revolutionary accomplishment for the medium during their respective decade.

Don’t give a much of a shit about Demon Slayer, but I think the success of this, Ne Zha 2, and Nobody while American animated movies are underperforming should absolutely serve as a wake-up call to mainstream studios that merely making safe kids movies is not gonna cut it, especially overseas.
