Ending poverty is about dignity, justice, and belonging, not just income. Every day, EMPath is working to create systemic change as well as working with families on their journey from poverty to economic stability — help us support them at EMPathways.org/give.

Good news! 🗞️ Senators on the Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities Committee voted to advance several bills in favor of state benefits and basic needs programs.
We know economic mobility is complex — so for #NationalDictionaryDay, let's break it down! 📑
EMPath's shelter programs provide a safe place for women & families who have lost access to housing, a number of whom have left situations of DV. Our Mobility Mentors support them as they heal, grow their independence, and learn new skills. Together, we build a path forward to a brighter future.
Taken just over fifty years apart, these two photos show only part of the history of Hastings House, EMPath's largest congregate shelter. Hastings has stood in the same spot in its Brighton neighborhood for over a century — we celebrated its 101st birthday last month!
#IndigenousPeoplesDay honors the rich history and traditions of Native American communities. Today, we recognize and celebrate the strength, resilience, and diversity of Indigenous Peoples in the United States.

EMPath is grateful to those who donated their time, money, and resources in the wake of last year's fire in the East Wing of Hastings House. It's thanks to our supporters that Hastings has been able to serve people in need for 101 years — and will continue for many more.
Ruthie Liberman, EMPath's Director of Public Policy, brought her deep knowledge of our organization's work to @massbudget.bsky.social’s FOCUS2025 conference last week. Together, we can #disruptpoverty & advance the policies that will have the biggest impact on our children, families, & communities.
Thanks to our partnership with Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, EMPath is able to provide on-site health care to the families of Hastings House. This #NationalChildHealthDay, we want to thank BHCHP for their work promoting the health, safety, and well-being of the kids in our program. ❤️🩹
Domestic violence is a leading cause of homelessness. A number of the participants in EMPath's shelter programs are leaving abusive situations — help us support them as they work to rebuild their lives. Give now at EMPathways.org/give. #DVAM2025 #EndDomesticViolence

#HispanicHeritageMonth is a special time to celebrate the rich traditions and history of Hispanic culture — and a chance to enjoy vibrant music, delicious food, and inspiring stories!
In addition to stressing about money, people living in poverty face lots of incorrect ideas about their lives. Poverty is not caused by bad choices. It's a result of unfair policies and lack of social support. That's why EMPath uses a mix of direct services and policy advocacy to #disruptpoverty.
Registration is open NOW to members of EMPath's Economic Mobility Exchange™ and will open to the public on October 1. Learn more at empathways.org/conference.
