This week's star employee is clear neon pink Kewpie baby angel! Too anatomically incorrect to be a Sonny Angel, this bright addition to our workforce stands confidently in the public domain. Thank you for your hard work, clear neon pink Kewpie baby angel!
A sofubi shaped like the Kewpie baby with angel wings. It's made of a clear neon pink vinyl, making it kind of hard to make out the details, but it's face is painted on and it's very cute. Well ok you can't really make out its mouth because of the way the photo is taken, but its eyes and eyebrows are definitely cute. The same figure at a 3/4 angle, showing off its tiny wings that are painted a dark red at the tips. You can make out the nose and mouth a bit better in this picture, despite there being a bunch of stuff behind it that's making it hard to see. Due to the clear. Clear neon pink Kewpie baby angel with a black light being shone on it. It doesn't glow in the dark or anything but because of its neon color, it glows an extra bright pink where the light is hitting it. Since the stuff behind it lights up as well, the flashlight isn't very well centered on the figure because the blue reflections would have made it hard to see, trust me

Technically, neither Smiski nor Knightriders on VHS are sofubi. However, we are an equal opportunity employer, and we believe Smiski's message: George Romero's Knightriders (1981) is both a movie about motorcycle jousting AND an insightful look into how niche interests gather found family
The world-famous Smiski leading a presentation of a VHS copy of the movie Knightriders. He looks very serious, as though worried the average viewer won't understand its nuanced portrayal of the blurry line between cult and community

It's a dangerous world out there...
fortunately we've got melon shaved ice D-Attack Opening Gabura to stand guard! Thank you for keeping us safe, D-Attack Gabura! #sofubi
D-Attack Opening Gabura, an adorable sofubi critter with its mouth open and some ferocious teeth. It's chained to a sofubi tree stump to keep him from running away and attacking any sofubi passers-by. D-Attack Gabura stretching his chain to its full length to test his limits D-Attack Gabura does not glow in the dark, but the inside of his mouth is glowing a cool bright orange under the blacklight

Happy Pride! Our DEI department agreed to let us nominate FIVE employees this week - congrats to our happy family of Fueki! A stationery company of the same name sells beloved glue pots shaped like his head. It can be assumed all of our employees contain useful office supplied as well! #sofubi
Five sofubi figures of Fueki, a dog shaped like a glue pot, or perhaps a glue pot shaped like a dog? Either way, these ones have bodies as well. They come in pink, orange, yellow, green, and blue, and all lined up they form a pastel rainbow. The same rainbow line of Fueki, but from an angle. Fueki is looking to his right, so now they're almost looking at the camera! More importantly, now you can see their doggy ears.

sorry for the long delay between posts - the Sofubi Employee of the Week crew held an extended off-site in Japan, and also I forgot

Here to show that you don't need a face to shine is... this mushroom that I bought at Design Festa 2023 and whose artist I forget and can't find!!
A cute sofubi mushroom with a soft pastel color scheme. It has no face, because mushrooms do not have faces, and Google lens cannot help me find the creator. The same mushroom sofubi with the lights off, showing that it glows brightly in the dark. Did you know that UV flashlights are really good at charging up glow-in-the-dark material? it's great for things like photographing glowing sofubi

Today's Soapstone Employee of the Day is this bear I carved at a work happy hour a few months ago! A bit of April Fool's Day fun since technically, he's probably considered property of my employer!
A little bear carved out of stone. I did my best and I think it's really cute. No, it's not sofubi, why would you ask??

I picked up this Futoagon at Design Festa in November of 2023 and I can't find any info about this color? Yet he's been doing an incredible job ramping up the new hires!! Thank you, mysterious rainbow Futoagon!!
Futoagon, a bearded dragon kaiju sofubi, in a clear glitter rainbow gradient. His head is blue and it fades through to a bright red at his feet that almost glows in the light, and he looks very calmly confident. He's surrounded by smaller Futoagons who seem to look to him for guidance Rainbow Futoagon and his small disciples. They're all leaning back and putting their weight on their tails, rather than balancing on their feet, because it's hard to balance them and also because they convey an incredibly chill vibe like this

Our latest employee of the week is Inu Hariko Daioh Shibara! His big personality makes him a stand-out hit with customers! Thank you for your hard work, Inu Hariko Daioh Shibara!

#sofubi #konatsu #negora #shibara
Daioh Shibara, an exceptionally large sofubi shiba inu kaiju, painted like a Japanese Inu Hariko. out of frame and in the background he is surrounded by more konatsuya sofubi and prints because we know no restraint a side view of inu hariko daioh shibara, showing off his cute double curly tail and gold back spikes, because at the end of the day he is still a kaiju

you actually can fill the void at the core of your being with worldly possessions if you're really, really good at buying stuff

every week, by which I mean every once in a while, my wife and I check in on our toy collection and identify one little guy who's been really exhibiting excellent behaviors. it seemed like time to begin documenting our employees of the week!!
