Teaching financial literacy from a working-class perspective 💰
Helping people understand money, make it work, and break the cycle of poverty 🚀
🧵
My 2026 advice — especially to myself:
Be okay with saying stop.
Be okay with saying I’m not ready.
Be okay with saying I need a break, I need rest, I need help.

DEI isn’t about checkboxes—it’s about culture. When people feel respected, seen, and safe to be themselves, bullying loses its power. Inclusive workplaces build empathy, accountability, and belonging—and that’s how bullying is prevented, not ignored.#education #dei #inclusion #bullying

Educators: Supporting bullied students starts with listening, validating feelings, and creating safe spaces. Consistent follow-up, clear anti-bullying policies, and collaboration with parents & counselors can make all the difference. #EduTips #BullyingPrevention

We saw an influencer speak about the power of having a delusional level of optimism, and I'm not quite sure we would go that far...but sometimes when some hills look like mountains you have to make yourself feel like a giant in order to cross it.

Being bullied in school doesn’t just hurt in the moment—it disrupts how students learn to adapt, communicate, and advocate for themselves. Those missing skills often show up later at work as fear, burnout, or silence. #EndBullying #MentalHealth

Since 2022, Empowering Education has been transforming lives in the Kentucky juvenile court system. Through our financial literacy and life skills programs, we’ve guided students toward a brighter future—helping them make choices that keep them out of court. #EmpowerEd

🧵 Saturday Reflection Thread

On this Saturday, I want to pause and celebrate what our team and community accomplished over the last year. Sometimes it’s important to stop and take stock of what worked.

In 2026, EmpowerEd is taking guidance counseling to a whole new level. 🚀
By partnering with community members and nonprofits, we’ll teach students what they need to succeed—and connect them to jobs that match their skill sets.

The future is here.

💥 Take the $20 Challenge! 💥

It only takes 200 people giving $20 to fully fund an entire student cohort.
Small gift. BIG impact.
Let’s make it happen. 🙌

The biggest wealth gap isn’t income — it’s access to financial education.
Imagine what our communities could look like if every student had the tools to build real financial stability. 💡✨

As the owner of Empowering Education, I know there will come a day when I’m no longer leading EE. That’s why it matters to me that, starting in 2026, our team has real representation. We’re working with the @aft.org to make that happen.

Unions make employees and employers better.

Empowering Education isn’t just a program — it’s a pathway.
We’re giving students the tools, confidence, and financial footing to build futures they didn’t think were possible. When you change what a student believes is possible, you change a community. That’s why this work matters.

Goodnight, everyone.
Networking at the Chamber of Commerce today wasn’t just “professional development.” It gave us real hope. We were surrounded by people who genuinely care about their community—and that reminder means more than any business card ever could. 🌙✨

Remember: every dollar you spend, save, or invest is a vote for the future you want. Make sure you’re casting wisely. Rest up — we build wealth again tomorrow.”

As I head back into D.C. to meet with friends and gear up for Kids Day at the Washington Wizards, I’ve been reflecting on something that hit me last night.

Seeing our Empowering Education logo on a billboard in the D.C. metro made everything feel real in a way it hasn’t before.

You can chase your dream even if the “dream job” isn’t in reach.
Maybe you want to be a marine biologist but live in North Dakota—no ocean in sight. 🌾🌊

The trick? Ask yourself: What’s adjacent to my dream?
That’s how you keep moving forward without getting discouraged. 💙✨

Admitting that structural barriers hold students and parents back isn’t making excuses — it’s naming the real problem. When we address those barriers, we give both kids and parents a real chance to succeed.
