At least she knew how to use one creatively. I believe Peter Gabriel got one very early too and formed the company that distributed them in the UK, Syco (I can't remember what i did last week but I keep useless info like that in my head). #Deeper80s

I saw a post celebrating Thomas Dolby's birthday last week that told of him getting a record company advance in 1981 and buying a London flat and a Fairlight with the money. The Fairlight was the more expensive item. #Deeper80s

Remember a very young Ian Hislop telling Tom Waits off for mumbling on a late night Channel 4 music programme (Loose Talk?). Took me a while to "get" TW but he is the real deal. #Deeper80s
