Most "classics" are boring as fuck to a modern reader in no small part because the context of the story is not understood by them and so many of the allusions and "inside jokes" known to then-contemporary readers have been lost in time and in translation

Genres aren't real. They are mental projections we impose on stories to simplify the way talk about and sell them but stories come unshaped from deep within us and writers shouldn't feel constrained by or even respect genres at all. The story comes first.

I think I remember that if someone blocked me or I blocked them, i wouldn't see people's interactions with them and they would vanish from my sphere. but idky I keep seeing posts (mostly quotes) where the op just says "blocked". that's a downgrade on user experience imo. am I remembering wrong?
