i like how in the traditional sketch you can see i was trying to keep him as close to his in-game model as my style would allow (forgetting his freckles is unforgivable tho) vs in the digital sketches i went "screw that, his hair is MUCH longer and poofier"

Oh definitely not. If he had his way he'd sleep past noon every day. But alas, tadpoles and travelling don't exactly afford him such luxury.

He can wake up early but he won't enjoy it.
The semi-nocturnal lifestyle he adapts to with Astarion post-netherbrain is very much welcomed

Mal, chronically sleep deprived as he is, is of the mind that cheerfulness first thing in the morning prior to coffee should be illegal.

pointed in your direction, and the only deciding factor on whether he uses it is if you're friend or foe.

He'll relax quickly enough once he recognises you as a friend, but you're probably dead if not.

Maybe don't sneak up on the traumatised bard that was trained with the instincts of a fighter 😬

It honestly depends on what mood Solstice is in before the startle. If he's in a good mood and you're a friend, he'll probably shout in surprise and give whoever made him jump a playful smack on the arm.

If he's in a bad mood and is armed..... you're gonna end up with a sword +

“Solstice?”

Solstice was on his feet in a flash, a previously unseen sword in his hand, as he whirled around to face his attacker. His green eyes were wide in alarm, and his harried heartbeat quickened even more as his chest heaved.

The air fled his lungs as he recognised Astarion.

“Shit,” Solstice huffed. He sheathed his sword and turned his back on Astarion, leaning forward and tightly gripping the balustrading. “You scared me.”

After that, Karlach, Charity, Creed and Wyll go back to Avernus and eventually manage to fix Karlach's engine and return home, the four of them settling in Baldur's Gate together. (There was another surprise visit for Solstice when they first got back too)

So in the end, Karlach ended up with a full four-person party to help her out in Avernus. They couldn't find a way to keep in contact with the others while in Avernus, but they all reunited with everyone 6 months later at the party. Solstice practically leapt at Karlach, overjoyed to see her again +
