I LOOOVE this art style. Wish I had the skill/equipment to make something like that myself. Originally wanted to use a similar art style for the game I'm working on, but settle for pixels since I'm not much of an artist.

I'm not saying that any of this is necessarily "bad," but it is interesting. Compare this to the 90s Nicktoons esque Sunshine, or the grab bag of aesthetics in Mario Odyssey. The Mario games have always been family friendly, but this does feel the most kid catered.

Is it just me, or do the Mario Galaxy games feel the most "for kids" of the traditional 3D Mario games?

Not gameplay wise, but aesthetically. There's the storybook motif that gives everything rounded edges, and the UI is very large and readable. Like apps that are made for kids.
