and I was told that I wouldn’t live without it.
The issue was that it only came
in the form of a pill.
So I treated myself with reading and poetry
and pretty drawings and friends
and creating whole worlds in my head.
My teacher didn’t really like that
I couldn’t handle the dosage.
And maybe this is something I’ll come to regret,
but I’ve made it this far and I’m not dead yet.
