Support the Ejiao Act to Ban Cruel Donkey-Hide Trade

We applaud Congressman Don Beyer for reintroducing the Ejiao Act to ban the transportation, sale, and purchase of ejiao products in the U.S. No more donkeys should suffer!

Remembering Robert Redford - Tribute by Susan Wagner

"[He] was a tower as an actor, as a filmmaker, as a humanitarian, and as a great American. The world will remember him for all of those things, but I will also always remember him for his equine advocacy."

On this day, we must remember the innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001. We honor them and the first responders who risked their lives to save others, and share our support with survivors. #PatriotDay #NeverForget

The name's Pete - Pensacola Pete! This handsome Standard Donkey, born in 2011, was abandoned along with three female donkeys in Pensacola, FL. The others were adopted, but no one wanted Pete. Fearing he would fall through the cracks, we rescued him, and he arrived at the sanctuary in August of 2015.

This little flower arrived at our sanctuary 7 yrs ago today 🌼 Daffodil is a Miniature Horse born around 2009. She was rescued out of a New Jersey kill pen in 2016 by Artemis Farm Rescue. She had a serious leg injury, most likely sustained at the auction, & underwent a long rehab before coming here.

"Make sure to get my good side." -Buddy

Let's be honest - Buddy doesn't have a bad side! This gorgeous Thoroughbred was rescued in 2012 when police intercepted a truck shipping him & other horses to Canada for slaughter. We were able to take him & he now spends his days with other Thoroughbreds.

Happy #InternationalDayofFriendship! Gather your herd and celebrate your best buddies today 🐴 Equines are social animals who form strong bonds through mutual grooming, play, and their own unique hierarchy. Mini donkeys Alice, Daisy, and Chloe are perfect examples of that!

It's Friday, not FLY DAY! Shake 'em off, Connor 🦟 We hope you, too, can shake off the bugs, dust yourself off, and have a wonderful weekend!

Fun Fact: Horses drink between 5 & 15 gallons of water daily, sometimes even more on a hot day! Keeping them hydrated is an essential part of the care we provide. We regularly check water troughs to ensure our equines always have access to clean water, whether it's for drinking or splashing around!

A thank you message from EA President Susan Wagner about The Call of the Wild National Call-In Day of Action 🐴
A photo of a Wild Mustang next to a letter saying, "All I can say is “Wow!” I am so grateful to all the organizations that sent out and shared alerts and the countless number of horse lovers and advocates across this country who took the time to call their lawmakers on July 1st as part of The Call of the Wild National Call-In Day of Action to Protect America’s Wild Horses and Burros and Our Public Lands. It was a way for all of us to unite under one big umbrella and send strong messages to our lawmakers not to vote for legislation that would destroy our wild equine herds and their habitats on our Public Lands. There is a lot going on in Congress now, and things are changing rapidly. We will report on any important developments pertaining to Wild Horses and Burros as we receive them. With appreciation, Susan Wagner, EA President."
