finished LotR 2. more entertaining than 1 but still dragged a bit

brief intermission with One Billion Years to the End of the World by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky.

will see if I need more of a break from lotr after this, but I'd like to finish it this year still.

as for fantasy I loved The Unbroken by CL Clark and would cautiosly recommend book 1 of Paksennarion by Elizabeth Moon (but check the CWs), I really liked the aroace undertones in that. theres so much good queer fantasy though you cant really go wrong :D 2/2

for scifi I really loved A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine and its sequel. There's also Machineries of Empire by Yoon Ha Lee which isn't so much directly queer as just incredibly interesting for all its genderfuckery 1/2
